2-Inch Water Temperature Gauge 100–250°F | White LED

Universal 2-Inch Water Temperature Gauge – 100–250°F, White LED

Monitor engine coolant temperature with a compact 52mm electrical gauge designed for compatible 12V cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles and recreational vehicles.

This universal water-temperature gauge measures from 100°F to 250°F and includes a matched 1/8-inch NPT sender. Its white LED illumination improves nighttime visibility, while the black ABS-and-metal housing provides a clean appearance for factory-style and custom dashboards.

Monitor Coolant Temperature While Driving

An aftermarket temperature gauge can provide more information than a factory warning light or heavily damped dashboard needle.

Coolant temperature may rise because of:

  • Low coolant
  • Radiator restrictions
  • Cooling-fan failure
  • Thermostat problems
  • Water-pump failure
  • Air trapped in the cooling system
  • Heavy towing or extended idling
  • Marine cooling-system restrictions

If temperatures start climbing, our guide explains why a car overheats and how to find the cause.

100–250°F Measurement Range

The gauge displays temperatures from 100°F to 250°F, covering typical engine warmup, normal operating conditions and elevated coolant temperatures.

The Fahrenheit scale makes it useful for:

  • Daily drivers
  • Pickup trucks
  • Project cars
  • Engine swaps
  • Motorcycles and ATVs
  • RVs and caravans
  • Tractors
  • Boats and marine vehicles

Normal temperature varies by engine, thermostat, cooling-system pressure and operating load. Always compare readings against the vehicle or engine manufacturer’s specifications.

Original price was: $14.99.Current price is: $12.89.

White LED Nighttime Illumination

The white LED backlight illuminates the display for improved readability in low-light conditions.

White lighting works with a wide range of factory interiors and aftermarket gauge installations without turning the dashboard into a rolling arcade cabinet. Install the gauge where it remains visible without blocking the windshield or factory instruments.

Compact Universal 52mm Housing

The gauge measures approximately 2 inches, or 52mm, making it compatible with many universal:

  • A-pillar gauge pods
  • Dashboard pods
  • Under-dash mounting panels
  • Marine instrument panels
  • Custom gauge clusters

Always measure the opening and available rear clearance before drilling or cutting.

ABS-and-Metal Construction

The housing combines ABS plastic and metal components for a lightweight, durable design. Its exterior is intended to resist ordinary scratches and wear associated with automotive use.

For marine or open-cabin installations, protect the rear electrical connections from moisture and corrosion. No formal IP rating is specified, so “boat compatible” should not be interpreted as “enthusiastically submersible.”

Included 1/8-Inch NPT Sender

The temperature sender uses a common 1/8-inch NPT thread.

Possible installation locations include:

  • Cylinder-head coolant port
  • Intake-manifold coolant passage
  • Thermostat housing
  • Engine block
  • Coolant outlet
  • Inline radiator-hose adapter

Verify the vehicle’s port size before ordering. Metric and NPT threads are not interchangeable, even when they look close enough to begin an expensive mistake.

Why Install an Aftermarket Temperature Gauge?

Many factory temperature gauges provide only a general indication of coolant temperature. Some remain in the middle of the display across a broad operating range and move toward hot only after the cooling system is already struggling.

A dedicated gauge can help you:

  • Monitor coolant temperature more closely
  • Detect unusual temperature increases
  • Confirm cooling-fan operation
  • Evaluate cooling-system repairs
  • Monitor a modified or swapped engine
  • Replace a failed factory gauge
  • Track temperature while towing
  • Add instrumentation to boats and custom vehicles

If high temperature appears alongside coolant loss, corrosion or visible leakage, review our guide to the seven signs of a failing radiator.

Installation Notes

Install the included sender where it remains in contact with circulating coolant.

Before installation:

  • Let the engine cool completely.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Verify the sender port uses 1/8-inch NPT threads.
  • Use a compatible adapter when necessary.
  • Connect the gauge to switched 12V power.
  • Protect the power circuit with an appropriate fuse.
  • Provide a clean electrical ground.
  • Route wiring away from exhaust components.
  • Keep wiring clear of belts, pulleys and cooling fans.
  • Bleed trapped air from the cooling system.
  • Inspect the sender connection for leaks.
  • Test gauge operation before driving.

Avoid removing the factory coolant-temperature sensor unless the vehicle manufacturer confirms it is safe. The ECU may use that sensor for cooling-fan control, fuel delivery, ignition timing and warning lights.

Frequently Asked Questions

What temperature range does the gauge display?

The gauge measures coolant temperature from 100°F to 250°F.

What size is the gauge?

It measures approximately 2 inches, or 52mm, in diameter.

Is the temperature sender included?

Yes. The kit includes a matched temperature sender with a 1/8-inch NPT thread.

Will it fit every 12V vehicle?

The electrical requirements suit many 12V vehicles, but physical fitment depends on the gauge opening, available clearance and sender-port thread.

Can it be used on a boat?

It can be used in compatible 12V marine cooling systems. Protect the rear wiring and electrical connections from moisture because no certified waterproof rating is specified.

Can I use the factory sender?

Use the included sender unless compatibility with the factory sender has been confirmed. Different senders may use different resistance curves and produce inaccurate readings.

Does it have an overheating alarm?

No warning alarm is specified. The driver must monitor the temperature display.

Can it be connected to a 24V system?

No. The supplied specifications list 12V DC operation. Do not connect the gauge directly to 24V power.

What should I do if the gauge reads above normal?

Reduce engine load and watch whether the temperature stabilizes. If it continues rising, coolant escapes or steam appears, pull over safely and shut the engine off. Never open a hot, pressurized cooling system.

Our guide on how to deal with an overheating engine explains what to check next.

Simple Coolant-Temperature Monitoring

This universal 52mm water-temperature gauge provides the essential features needed for basic engine monitoring: a useful 100–250°F range, white LED illumination, 12V operation and an included 1/8-inch NPT sender.

It is a practical choice for compatible cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, ATVs, tractors, boats and custom builds that need more temperature information than a warning light provides.
