UF413 coil catalogs extend some Escalade applications through 2016, but the 2015–2016 vehicles use the newer Gen V powertrain family. Do not extend the complete coil, plug and wire kit through 2016 without confirming all three components.
2014–2016 Fitment Warning
The supplied description broadly claims 2007–2016 Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Sierra, Yukon and Escalade coverage. That range is misleading.
GM transitioned its full-size trucks and SUVs to Gen V engines during this period:
- 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500 models moved to newer engines.
- 2015 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Escalade models followed.
- These vehicles may use different coils, plugs and plug wires.
Restrict the published complete-kit fitment to the older compatible engine generation unless the VIN, engine RPO and original component numbers confirm otherwise.
Square-Coil Identification
This kit uses the square UF413/D510C coil. Before ordering, inspect an original coil and verify:
- Square coil body
- Electrical-connector shape
- Connector keying
- Mounting-bracket arrangement
- Original OE number
- Plug-wire boot angle and length
Some GM engines used round coils during the same model year. Trim, displacement and year alone cannot reliably identify the installed coil.

Verify wire length and boot angle. A wire can connect at both ends and still be wrong enough to rest against an exhaust manifold, which tends to end the relationship quickly.
Symptoms This Kit May Correct
Correctly matched ignition components may help correct:
- Rough or unstable idle
- Hesitation under acceleration
- Hard starting
- P0300 random or multiple-cylinder misfire
- P0301 through P0308 cylinder-specific misfires
- Ignition-coil circuit codes
- Reduced power
- Flashing check-engine light
- Fuel odor caused by incomplete combustion
Use our engine-misfire diagnosis guide before replacing the entire ignition system.
A misfire may also come from an injector, intake leak, damaged wiring, AFM lifter failure or low compression. New red coils cannot negotiate with a collapsed lifter, no matter how performance-oriented the color looks.
Installation Notes
- Verify the VIN, engine RPO and original coil shape.
- Confirm all coil, plug and wire reference numbers.
- Allow the engine to cool completely.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Label each plug-wire position.
- Remove wires by gripping their boots—not the conductor.
- Clean debris from around each spark plug.
- Compare the replacement plugs with the originals.
- Check the manufacturer’s gap specification.
- Start every plug by hand.
- Tighten the plugs to the engine-specific specification.
- Route wires away from exhaust components and sharp edges.
- Install the coils and reconnect each electrical connector.
- Clear stored trouble codes and verify the repair.
Use dielectric grease only where recommended. Do not coat spark-plug electrodes or use it as a substitute for repairing loose terminals.
Performance Claims
Copper windings and heat-resistant wires support dependable ignition operation, but the kit should be described as a replacement service package rather than a guaranteed horsepower upgrade.
Properly functioning coils, plugs and wires can restore performance lost to worn components. They will not create additional power on an otherwise healthy factory ignition system.
