Compatible K-Series Engines
The hose kit may work with common K-swap engines such as:
- K20A
- K20A2
- K20A3
- K20Z1
- K20Z3
- K24A1
- K24A2
- K24A4
- K24A8
Engine code alone does not guarantee fitment. K20 and K24 builds can use different water outlets, thermostat housings, intake manifolds, accessories and radiator positions. Compare every connection before installation.

Designed for a K-Swap Radiator
A K-series engine sits differently from the original Civic powertrain, placing its cooling connections in different locations. This kit is molded to connect the swapped engine to a compatible radiator with K-swap-specific inlet and outlet placement.
It is intended to work with:
- Mishimoto 1992–1995 Civic EG K-swap radiator
- Mishimoto 1996–2000 Civic EK K-swap radiator
- Comparable radiators with matching inlet and outlet locations
It should not be assumed to fit a stock Civic radiator, universal half-size radiator or custom radiator without measuring the connections.
Our Honda engine-swap mistakes guide explains why radiator capacity, fan control, hose routing and proper bleeding must be planned before the first drive.
Four-Layer Silicone Construction
The MMHOSE-HON-K20BK uses four layers of high-grade silicone reinforced with heat-resistant fibers. Mishimoto rates the hoses for temperatures up to 330°F.
Key features include:
- Four-layer reinforced silicone construction
- 330°F maximum temperature rating
- Improved pressure tolerance
- Preformed K-swap routing
- Black finish
- 1.25-inch inside diameter
- 1.65-inch outside diameter
- Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty
Silicone also resists age-related cracking better than ordinary rubber. It still needs proper clamps, clean connections and sensible routing. Expensive silicone resting against a header will eventually become expensive modern art.

Confirm both radiator outlets and engine-side connections before ordering. Modified housings, swivel necks and aftermarket water outlets can change the required hose diameter or routing.
What’s Included?
The package includes the molded silicone radiator hoses required for the intended EG/EK K-swap configuration.
The supplied description does not clearly confirm that clamps are included. Inspect the seller’s package list before ordering and purchase suitable clamps if necessary.
Installation Notes
Only open the cooling system when the engine is completely cold.
A typical installation involves:
- Confirm the engine, water outlet and radiator configuration.
- Compare the new hoses with the planned routing.
- Drain the cooling system.
- Clean each radiator and engine connection.
- Test-fit the hoses before tightening anything.
- Trim only when necessary for proper seating.
- Keep both hoses away from the header, belts and cooling fans.
- Position each clamp behind the raised bead on its fitting.
- Fill the system with Honda-compatible coolant.
- Bleed all trapped air.
- Confirm fan operation.
- Pressure-test the system and inspect every connection.
Our complete cooling-system guide explains how the radiator, thermostat, water pump, pressure cap and fans work together.
If old coolant or fabrication debris may be present, follow our cooling-system flush procedure before putting the swapped engine under load.
Diagnosing K-Swap Cooling Problems
New hoses cannot correct every overheating problem. If the K-swapped Civic still runs hot, check:
- Coolant-hose routing
- Radiator inlet and outlet placement
- Radiator capacity
- Thermostat orientation
- Water-pump compatibility
- Fan direction and control
- Expansion-tank placement
- Pressure-cap rating
- Trapped air
- Head-gasket leakage
Use our guide to finding a coolant leak if the level continues dropping. If temperatures rise during normal driving, review why a car overheats while driving.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does MMHOSE-HON-K20BK fit a stock 1992–2000 Civic?
No. It is specifically designed for a Civic with a K-series engine swap and compatible K-swap radiator.
Does it fit both EG and EK Civics?
Yes. Mishimoto lists it for 1992–1995 EG and 1996–2000 EK Civic K-swaps.
Will it fit a K24-swapped Civic?
Potentially. Fitment depends on the thermostat housing, water outlet and radiator configuration. Some K24 installations use components that change hose routing.
Will it fit a B-series swap?
No. B-series swaps use different coolant connections and hose routing.
Does it fit a Honda Civic del Sol?
Some retailers list compatible K-swapped del Sol applications, but the primary manufacturer application is the 1992–2000 Civic. Verify the radiator position, engine connections and hose routing before using it in a del Sol.
Does the kit work with a factory Civic radiator?
It is designed around K-swap radiator inlet and outlet locations. Factory radiator compatibility should not be assumed.
Does it increase horsepower?
No. It improves cooling-system durability and cleans up the hose routing. The K-series handles the horsepower department.
