Critical Connector Requirement
This coil set only fits applications using the matching left-facing connector tab.
Before ordering, compare the replacement coil with the original and verify:
- Connector dimensions
- Connector tab direction
- Number and position of electrical terminals
- Coil-body shape
- Mounting-bolt location
- Boot length
- OE number printed on the original coil
A vehicle appearing in the application chart does not override a connector mismatch. Plastic tabs are stubborn that way; optimism rarely changes their orientation.
Replacement and Interchange Numbers
This kit is advertised as replacing:
- UF242
- UF-242

Honda catalog information identifies 30520-P8E-A01 as an original six-coil application for 1999–2003 Odyssey and 2000–2003 Accord V6 models. Genuine Honda Coil, Plug Hole
Incorrect Interchange Number
The original listing includes 90919-02247, which follows Toyota’s ignition-coil numbering format and should not be published as a Honda/Acura UF242 interchange without documentation.
Remove that number from the product page unless the manufacturer can provide a valid cross-reference.
Symptoms This Coil Set May Correct
Correctly matched replacement coils may help address:
- Rough or shaking idle
- Hesitation under acceleration
- Intermittent loss of power
- Difficult starting
- P0300 random or multiple-cylinder misfire
- P0301 through P0306 cylinder-specific misfires
- Ignition-coil primary or secondary circuit codes
- Flashing check-engine light
- Fuel odor caused by incomplete combustion
Our engine-misfire diagnostic guide explains how ignition, fuel-delivery and mechanical problems can produce similar symptoms.
A cylinder-specific misfire can be investigated by swapping the suspected coil with another cylinder and checking whether the code follows it. Do not perform this test if the coil housing, boot or connector is visibly damaged.
Installation Notes
- Allow the engine to cool completely.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Remove the engine and coil covers where fitted.
- Release each connector without pulling on the wiring.
- Remove the coil mounting bolt.
- Pull the coil straight out of the spark-plug well.
- Inspect the well for oil, coolant, moisture or debris.
- Check the spark-plug condition and gap.
- Compare the connector and mounting points with the replacement coil.
- Install the new coil and tighten its fastener to the factory specification.
- Reconnect the wiring and clear stored diagnostic codes.
- Confirm that the engine runs smoothly without returning faults.
The rear cylinder bank can be tighter to access on transverse Honda V6 installations. Work carefully around the connectors; twenty-year-old engine-bay plastic often has the structural confidence of a potato chip.
Important Product Claims
The claims that these coils “meet or exceed OE performance” and reflect “over 50 years of experience” should only be used if Marsram supplies supporting certification or company documentation.
Replacement coils are intended to restore proper ignition performance. They should not be advertised as producing additional horsepower or improving fuel economy beyond recovering performance lost to failed components.
