Two Automatic Color Modes

In addition to the ten solid-color settings, the gauge includes two automatic lighting modes:

• Ten-color cycle mode
• Ten-color fade mode

Cycle mode moves through the available colors, while fade mode creates a smoother transition between them.

For actual driving, a solid color will usually be the least distracting option. The cycle modes remain available for shows, display vehicles and anyone who believes ten colors are better when they refuse to sit still.

Ultra-Bright Digital Display

The digital LED screen provides a quick numerical reading without requiring the driver to estimate the position of an analog needle.

Automatic Startup Calibration

Self-calibration helps confirm that the display and internal electronics are functioning. It does not test the entire cooling system, sender installation or coolant level—because apparently the gauge is unwilling to do absolutely everything.

Automatic Nighttime Dimming

Connect the orange wire to the vehicle’s headlight-switch circuit and the display will dim by approximately 50 percent whenever the headlights are switched on.

This reduces glare during nighttime driving while keeping the temperature reading visible.

Compact 2-1/16-Inch Housing

Installation Notes

Install the included sender where it can contact circulating engine coolant.

• Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
• Verify the available coolant-port thread.
• Install a thread or hose adapter if required.
• Route the sensor wire through a protected firewall grommet.
• Keep wiring away from exhaust components.
• Avoid belts, pulleys and cooling fans.
• Connect the orange dimmer wire to the headlight circuit if desired.
• Bleed trapped air from the cooling system.
• Inspect the sender and adapters for leaks.
• Confirm gauge operation before driving.
