The cameras document traffic conditions, lane changes, impacts and parking incidents from both directions. Actual plate visibility depends on vehicle speed, lighting, weather, camera placement and motion—not simply the number printed on the box.
ADAS, BSD and Lane-Change Alerts
The PG17 Max includes several camera-based driver-assistance functions:
- Lane-departure warning
- Forward-collision warning
- Car-distance warning
- Pedestrian-collision warning
- Forward-vehicle start warning
- Blind-spot detection
- Lane-change assistance
These alerts supplement driver awareness but do not control the vehicle or replace factory safety systems. Camera alignment and calibration are critical; mounting the unit crooked and expecting laboratory-grade lane tracking is an ambitious strategy.
AI-Assisted Footage Review
Downloaded footage can be reviewed through the AZDOME application with AI-generated augmented-reality information, including recognized vehicles, estimated distance, speed, lane guidance and license-plate details.
These overlays are analytical aids and may contain errors. Preserve the original recording if footage could be required for an insurance claim, police report or legal matter.
5GHz Wi-Fi and Mobile App
The built-in 5GHz Wi-Fi connection supports:

The manufacturer lists this feature as 5G Wi-Fi, meaning the 5GHz Wi-Fi band—not cellular 5G service. No mobile-data subscription is implied.
Voice Control
Ten English voice commands allow common functions to be operated without touching the display, including:
- Capture a photo
- Lock the current recording
- Change the camera view
- Turn recording audio on or off
- Control the screen
- Enable or disable Wi-Fi
Voice control reduces screen interaction while driving, although commands should be tested after installation to confirm reliable recognition.
Reversing-Camera Display
When properly connected to the reverse-light trigger circuit, the mirror automatically displays the rear camera with parking guidelines when Reverse is selected.
The guidelines are visual references only and may not precisely represent vehicle width or distance. Always inspect the surrounding area before backing up.
Parking Surveillance
The PG17 Max supports:
- Time-lapse parking recording
- Impact-triggered parking recording
- Locked incident clips
Continuous parking surveillance requires the separately sold AZDOME three-wire USB-C hardwire kit, ASIN B0BM9JL327. AZDOME lists that kit for compatible PG17 applications with a maximum output of 5V/2.5A, not 3A.
Installation Notes
The display straps over the vehicle’s existing interior mirror. Installation requires routing:
- Front-camera power wiring
- Rear-camera cable
- Optional GPS cable
- Reverse-trigger wire
- Optional parking-mode hardwire kit
Keep camera and power wiring away from side-curtain airbag deployment paths. Route the rear-camera cable away from ignition and high-current wiring that may introduce video noise.
