Dedicated Wi-Fi 6 for Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto

7-Inch 1280×720 Display
The Gen2 F7WE uses a 7-inch 1280×720 touchscreen.
Compared with older 1024×600 versions, the newer resolution provides more detail for:

ATOTO markets the current upgraded panel as an in-cell QLED display with a wide viewing angle.

Why In-Cell Touch Matters
In-cell construction integrates the touch layer more closely with the display.

A Real 7-Inch Double DIN Layout
The F7WE uses a conventional 7-inch Double DIN format rather than a large floating tablet.
That makes it much easier to install in vehicles where the stereo sits near:

The face is approximately 172 × 97 mm, but Double DIN alone does not guarantee that the stereo will simply slide into every dashboard.

The creativity automakers apply to everything surrounding those dimensions is considerably less standardized.
TCB502 Amplifier Upgrade
Audio performance is another major Gen2 improvement.
ATOTO uses the TCB502 amplifier chip in the upgraded F7WE, the same amplifier family marketed in its higher-end X10 platform.
ATOTO rates the F7WE at:
4 × 49 watts maximum
and
4 × 29 watts RMS
The RMS specification is the more useful number because it represents continuous output rather than short-duration peak power.
Why 4×29W RMS Matters
Twenty-nine watts RMS per channel is strong output for an integrated head-unit amplifier.
It can work well with:
- Factory replacement speakers
- Efficient aftermarket coaxials
- Basic component speakers
without immediately requiring an external amplifier.
That does not mean it replaces a dedicated amplifier in a serious audio system.
But for a straightforward street build, it can provide meaningful output without adding another box under a seat.
12-Band Equalizer
The current Gen2 F7WE provides a 12-band equalizer along with preset tuning options.
That gives users substantially more control than basic:
- Bass
- Mid
- Treble
adjustments.
EQ can be used to compensate for:
- Door-speaker response
- Cabin reflections
- Windshield effects
- Speaker placement
- Personal preference
It cannot fix a blown speaker.
Software still has limits.
4V RCA Preouts
One of the strongest features for enthusiasts is the F7WE’s 4V RCA preamp output.
The receiver provides external audio connections for upgraded systems, including dedicated subwoofer output.
A stronger preamp signal can be beneficial when connecting:

because the downstream amplifier requires less gain to achieve its target output.
Why 4V RCA Matters
Lower amplifier gain can help reduce the amplification of unwanted noise.

Bluetooth Hands-Free Calling
The F7WE supports Bluetooth hands-free calling and music streaming.
Current ATOTO specifications list Bluetooth 5.0 functionality for:
- Calls
- Audio streaming
- Phonebook access
- Media control
The unit includes both:
- Built-in microphone
- External microphone
giving installers more flexibility in microphone placement.
Included External Microphone
Mounting the external microphone closer to the driver can improve voice pickup compared with relying entirely on a microphone built into the radio face.
Typical mounting locations include:
- Upper A-pillar
- Headliner
- Steering-column area
- Overhead console
The best location balances voice pickup with wind and road noise.
Noise Reduction for Calls
ATOTO also markets improved noise reduction on the Gen2 F7WE.
The goal is to reduce distracting background noise from:

during hands-free calls.
Your polyurethane engine mounts may still provide the person on the other end with some mechanical ambiance.
There are limits.
Included Rear-View Camera
This F7G2A7WE-S01 package includes an HD rear-view camera.
ATOTO specifies a wide field of view of approximately:
140 degrees
to make reversing and parking easier.
The camera can help reveal objects that may be difficult to see through the mirrors, including:

720P Rear Camera Support
The F7 platform supports 720P AHD rear-camera input.
That provides a clearer image than older low-resolution CVBS-style backup-camera systems.

Live Rear View
The included camera also supports ATOTO’s Live Rear View feature.
A traditional backup camera appears only when reverse gear is selected.
Live Rear View allows the rear-camera image to be displayed while driving forward.

USB Front Dash-Camera Support
The F7WE also supports a compatible USB front dash camera for forward recording.
The dash camera is not included in the standard rear-camera package.
Always verify the exact package contents before publishing the product listing.
Product photography has an unfortunate habit of inviting every accessory in the catalog to appear in the same picture.
Three Video Inputs
ATOTO currently lists three video-input categories:
- Rear-view camera
- AUX audio/video
- Front camera
That gives the F7WE more expansion flexibility than a receiver limited to a single reverse-camera input.
Headrest Video Outputs
The unit also includes two RCA video outputs for compatible external monitors.
This can support rear-seat displays where appropriate.
Phone Mirroring
The F7WE supports compatible phone-screen mirroring through ATOTO’s AutoLink/MirrorLink functionality.
This is separate from CarPlay and Android Auto.
Compatibility depends on the phone and operating system.
Some DRM-protected streaming applications may block mirrored playback.
That is normal behavior for protected content rather than a defect in the stereo.
USB Media Playback
The F7WE can also play supported media from external USB storage.
ATOTO currently lists support for large USB storage devices, giving users another option for local:

without relying on a phone or cellular connection.
You can apparently carry enough music to outlast the engine.
Whether that is encouraging depends on the project car.
microSD Storage Support
The F7 platform also supports external SD storage.
ATOTO’s current specification table lists support up to 512GB.
USB storage support is listed substantially higher, up to 2TB on the current specifications.
FM and AM Radio
The F7WE retains conventional:
- FM radio
- AM radio
for drivers who still want terrestrial broadcasting.
No phone.
No data plan.
No account.
Sometimes technology peaks earlier than expected.
Steering-Wheel-Control Compatibility
The F7WE supports compatible factory steering-wheel controls.
Depending on the vehicle, this may require:

Choose an A5L if you want native Android apps on a budget.
Choose an S8 if you want:

- GPS tracking
Choose an X10 if you want:
- Higher-end processor
- Advanced camera integration
- More RAM and storage
- More sophisticated audio capability
The F7WE does not try to be all of those things.
