Installed 2 per wheel well on my 96 XJ and there was no need to put any underneath the body they are very bright and light up the entire underside of the jeep the remote is a nice touch as well easy install if you take your time routing the wires carefully lots of compliments no complaints i reccomend them and theyre great price

Really disappointed with these lights, the first disappointment was learning they were plastic instead of metal like a lot of the competitors. Then I spent forever installing them only to realize that the wires were too long to reach each other from the front to the back of my vehicle which is kind of weird because I have a small utility vehicle so if it can’t reach that far I have no idea how you get it to reach all the way to the back of your car. The second big gripe I have with these are they are super dim in comparison to other Rock lights I have installed on my boat. The one on my boat has only three LEDs in these come with many more but they’re much weaker. The last complaint I have is the remote it’s not working straight out the box so another huge headache for me if I wanted to exchange it so I have to say these are absolutely terrible value for your money. They were cheap so I guess you get what you pay for but if you’re going to spend that much time installing them then you should buy something of higher quality and stay away from these.

I got these lights wanting to use them for under glow on the bottom of my pop-up camper. Before I installed them I tested them on a Jackery portable power station. Just as an FYI, there are three power wires to connect. A black ground, a red positive wire, and a blue “brake light” wire. I hooked the blue and red wire together since I was not connecting these in a car and I had assumed that it needed power or the lights wouldn’t work. This was a mistake. The seller later informed me that the brake light wire is there as a safety and powering it caused the lights to only light up red. No other color would work as long as the brake light wire had power.As a test, I hooked them up as described above and turned them on. The lights lit up and begin flashing through the color schemes, red, blue, green etc. Touching any button on the remote only stopped the flashing and caused them to remain on solid red. It would have been like hitting the brakes on a car. In hind site I should have tried the lights without the blue wire hooked up. They might have worked fine.However, concerning the remote control, it is not the same one pictured in the ad, which I would have preferred because in theory it would have made choosing a color much easier. The remote included doesn’t have color choice buttons, it simply has 4 buttons labeled A, B, C, and D. Each button is supposed to have a different function. I was not able to figure it out before returning it due to having them connected incorrectly. I was also unable to make them link to the Smart Life app. Again, probably due to miswiring.I previously had given these lights a 3 star rating due to issues experienced, but had ammended my review to 4 stars due to the seller contacting me and explaining the situation better. It was my understanding that they also had offered me a refund while allowing me to keep the product, but I had already returned it before getting that message. So take this review with a grain of salt because part of it was my fault. The lights probably do work, but I still would have preferred the remote shown instead of the one included. It would have simplified using them in the way that I want to use them.

I do light the lights, but the green isn’t working on one of the lights, but I wasn’t planning on riding with that color anyway, so wasn’t to worried about it, but yea check the like thoroughly before installing them!!
