Fit my ’04 FXT like a glove. Was a little worried based on early (’16-’17 reviews), but buying new from DB Electrical turned out great. They supplied a great computer test printout with the alternator which was helpful, and the QA/QC seems to have improved substantially since those early reviews. Comes with the nut and washer for the electrical connection (under the red cap) which was a nice touch. Does exactly what you ask it to: fit great, spins nice by hand, turned the battery light off immediately, doesn’t explode. Great value for the money. Plus, no core charge!

Very easy to install. Put off changing it longer than I should have. A slight bit looser on the pivot bolt than OEM alternator, but once tightened up works just fine. It’s been running for a bit over a month now – about 200 miles or so without any issues. No warning lights and the battery is staying charged. Good value, and no core charge, so still have the OEM alternator for local rebuild if I need it. I’m at about 245,000 miles now so just seeing how long I can keep her running without breaking the bank.

Still working great after about 300miles. Time will tell if it lasts. Correct fit for 2004 Forester XS. Arrived very quickly.UPDATE DEC 2025: Alternator has now failed. Got about 3 years out of it, something like 50-60k miles. Do with that information what you will

Wow am I happy I decided to go with these folks product. I was a little hesitant because the shipping was not Prime but to my surprise it was even FASTER! I ordered and it said it would be 3-5 days but it shipped that same day and arrived early the next morning. The only way it could be faster is if a drone dropped it off. The alternator was as described, a beautiful looking unit. Installed it in about 15 mins. This part came with a printout from the bench test too! It read 14.56 volts on my meter after install, exactly what the bench test printout said. Phenomenal service, shipping and part. I would definitely buy again. I might buy an extra just to have as a spared because they were so inexpensive. Great so far, will report back in a year on how it’s running.
