Rockville SS10P 10″ 800w Slim Under-Seat Active Powered Car/Truck Subwoofer Sub

1

Description:

The SS10P is an all in one solution to give you great sounding bass in your vehicle without taking up a lot of space. This sub enclosure is only 3″ thick so that it can easily fit under your seat. The amplifier is built in, so installation and wiring is clean and simple. This is a true all in one subwoofer solution with the subwoofer built into the enclosure along with a top of the line amplifier built in as well.

Installation Made Easy

You don’t need to be an audio installer or have a PhD in “wire spaghetti.” The SS10P comes ready to go with plug-and-play wiring, a compact design that fits almost anywhere, and simple instructions. Slide it under your seat, wire it up, and enjoy instant bass gratification.

We added high level inputs so you can install this with an aftermarket or factory system. The high level input allows you to install this even if you have no preamp outputs available.

The smart turn-on circuit will sense that an audio signal is present and turn on the amplifier. When you turn off your music signal the amplifier built into this subwoofer system will automatically turn itself off. Something else we did to make installation quick and easy is we put all the inputs and outputs on one side. This makes wiring neater and easier. Our competitor’s models are more challenging to install.

Performance That Punches Above Its Weight

Rockville didn’t just build another under-seat sub—they built one that competes with trunk boxes twice its size. The SS10P offers tight, responsive low frequencies ideal for everything from EDM to country to hip-hop. If you want an OEM look with aftermarket power, this is your match.

The SS10P has 800 watts of peak power and 200 watts RMS. This has great controls so you can adjust the sound to your liking. It has a level control for the volume, low pass crossover filter, phase control, input sensitivity, and bass boost.

Included is a metal remote bass knob and mounting hardware so you can control the sub volume quickly from your dash. The sound quality of this model is really great. Rockville has been the leader in under-seat subwoofers for years so you can feel confident that this is the best in its class.

Why You’ll Love It

Because nothing transforms a boring commute faster than bass that actually makes your mirrors shake. The Rockville SS10P gives you value, power, and convenience—a rare trio in the car audio world.

Great sub! Easy install and the quality is there. The 10’ sub gives a great thump and fills the lower end nicely. It won’t rattle windows but the sound is clear and crisp. It does not sound distorted. The enclosure is compact, sturdy and fits under my seat.I will say that sitting in different areas of the car change the fullness of the sound. I have it under my driver seat and it sounds great but when I sit in the passenger rear seat, I don’t hear the bass as profound as I do when I’m sitting in the driver seat. Overall, I would highly recommend it. Especially for the price compared to some of the other products on here.I used a Boss 8gauge amp wire kit for my install and works perfect. Maybe a 4gauge would be preferred to prevent any overheating but an 8 is good enough. Oxygen Free cables would be the go to but I cheaped out.If you’re on the fence about it let me give you the nudge to get it! I think it’s great and worth the 100$ for an inclusive compact sub. DO IT!!!

Im a bit of an audio snob. This is actually quite impressive! Easy install. Fits perfectly under the middle back seat of my ford f150 heritage truck. Sounds fantastic. Base is strong and balances out with my 4 5×7 PolkAudio speakers. Very solid deal. Thank you

It’s ok. I placed my powered sub in the back of my Prius, I can hear it but not anything crazy. Decent mids, probably like 80hz but definitely not getting anything 50hz or lower. Was hoping for something a bit louder and lower in the Hz range. Definitely nothing close to 800W, not even sure why the packaging uses that number. I even doubt the 200W RMS rating. Sounds like something closer to 100W.Pros:Small footprint, could fit under my seatAdds some mid bassBass knob works and is pretty niceValue is pretty decent, especially compared to the price of other name brandsYou are not going to go deaf lolCons:Not loud, it reaches its peak at about 50% of my volume, speakers overwhelm it and hard to hear when car is moving with wind noise.Nowhere close to sounding like 800W peak.If you are just looking for a bit of bass, this is not a bad starting point. If you are looking for deeper bass, definitely not for you. This will likely be enough for like 80% of the population.

This Sub (not really a Sub but whatever you want to call it) is very nice for the price IF you have a factory stereo or an aftermarket stereo with no amps connected..But you shouldnt expect this thing to play real loud..I got it hoping it would be a little louder for my system..have a 100×4 amp with Alpine 6x9s and 6.5 door components,,at low to moderate sound it is fine almost perfect but if you have a loud system when you play it loud this speaker will got overpowered . And thats with the gain at max and the bass boost at near max.I placed it behind driver seat in a 04 Grand Prix…under the seat I felt it didnt sound as good..I doubt I will keep it in my current set up but will probably keep it for the second car since the freight to return it would be to much to merit returning it.I give it 5 stars for the price and performance on non amped stereos and 3 stars for How much I like it in my systemIf you have a non high powered stereo and you wont put it in the trunk (you cant tell its there in a trunk) then for the price I think you will love it.UPDATE::: Ok I have had this sub for about 7 months and have had hooked up 3 different ways..( all we’re with my above mentioned speakers and amp))FIRST.was connected to factory radio which is what my review was made..then SECOND OFF I installed a Sony deck and it made the sub sound a noticeabley better and was little more impressed with the sub..THIRD OFF I went back to my factory deck but installed a Clarion EQS755 equalizer and OMG what a difference unreal how much bass this Sub puts out now! I even had to turn the Sub gain down to 1/2 way ( I had it at 3/4 before EQ)and again it sounds unreal for a 8″ Sub (again I have it behind front seat on rear seat floorboard)BUT for some reason it kept cutting off with the Clarion don’t know why so I am back to having it connected to the Sony Deck and I will say even when I have it up very loud you do notice it and t makes a difference ( when I turn it off with the deck you see what a difference it makes.)Through all my connections I would say a aftermarket deck will make the most difference as compared to a factory deck ( it got drowned out easier with the factory deck)I don’t listen to rap or hip hop mostly hard rock / rock .. if you listen to rap and hip hop I doubt you will be as impressed as it struggles with super low bass ( but it’s a 8″ sub so I doubt anyone would think it would rock with rap or hip hop)If it lasts its an absolute steal now! I now give it 5 stars!UPDATE #2………..I know have 2 of these installed in my car 1 behind driver seat and 1 behind passenger seat and adding the second one made a big difference ( no duh! Right?) And with adding the second one the subs never get “drowned out” by my amped speakers and at times it’s to much bass to be honest but loving this lil sub big time! No it’s not “audiophile” quality and it doesn’t hit like two 10s or 12’s but with the subs on the floorboard I don’t have that God awfull trunk rattle sound on the outside that I have had in the past when I had subs in the trunk (not to mention I can use all of my trunk without a huge sub box in it) my rear view mirror vibrates like crazy at times ( it vibrated when I had just the 1 also) but no it won’t vibrate your side view mirrors in case you were curious…people have gotten in my car I asked what subs I had in the trunk ( they didn’t notice I had 2 of these on the rear floorboards). I know most people don’t plan on getting 2 of these (again 1 will be noticeable) but if your thinking of getting 2 or adding another one to your excisting sub.. Do it! Also I don’t currently bus the amp gain dash knob but since my decks sub volume adjustment seems to be all or nothing I plan to add the knob but will wire both subs to 1 gain knob..UPDATE#3Thought I would make another update since I am sure some people (and some reviews) have had problems with it lasting..Well I am at almost 2 years (1st one was installed Aug/2018 2nd one Dec/2018) and I have never had a problem with either on although when I had just the 1 and I was driving for over an hour with stereo cranked it id go into protective mode 1 time… But other than that they work perfect and sound great (for the price and knowing these arent going to be heard blocks away…But again I have a 100watt rms Pioneer GM-D8704 powering rear JBL 6x9s and front JBL 6.5 compoents and both subs are more than enough to keep up and at times sounds like I have 10s ..Just 1 had a lil harder time keeping up and at times got overpowered but that never happens with 2 unless I want to make my ears bleed.UPDATE #4 May 2025—- I still had both of these and they both still work after getting years of use, dont have a car to put them in since I recently got rid of my 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium W/Sony stereo … man did I get moneys worth out of them!!

I’ll admit I didn’t expect much, and neither did the guy that put this in. He said it would probably only vibrate my seat. We were both blown away at how much punchy bass this produces. It definitely fixed the lack of bass in my Tacoma. Definitely better than the $100 price would indicate. Great value for the money.

Fantastic little subwoofer! If you’re wanting to add some good quality bass to bring your stock stereo to life this is the ticket. Easy to install (did mine in under two hours) and tune. For the money this is worth every penny!

So far so good, installed it about a month ago for my daughter. She likes to jam lol. I put it under the driver seat of her Corolla. Fits well and sounds good. Really vibrates you when setting in the seat. It’s not like a big system when standing outside. but it really adds a lot of sound that you can feel and enjoy to a stock system when inside. Install wasn’t too bad. Just time consuming routing the wires and hiding them. I really like it. I’ve got a Rockford fosgate 8 inch powered sub and I believe this one beats it a little. There close though

    Me encantó
Prácticamente no ocupa espacio y no estorba.

Good Bass nice performances in Budget.
Easily I didn’t feel much difference in the sound quality later on when I started hearing the song which I used to hear before installing this sub. Huge difference was noticed… I am satisfied really. For the cost and consuming very less space
