Vehicle Fitment

  • 2005–2010 Ford Mustang

  • S197 chassis

  • V6 & GT trims
(Street and street/track builds; not a drag-only setup)

Hyper-Street II coilover suspension upgrade features mono-tube shocks with 32 clicks rebound settings and full length adjustable. Mono-tube shocks provides larger capacity for gas and oil to improve comfortable level of typical lowering vehicle. Special 32 clicks of valving allows user to fine tune rebound force settings. Independent spring tension and full length adjustable allows drop without sacrifice comfort by shorten pitch distance.

What Sets Hyper-Street II Apart

This isn’t a “set it once and forget it” kit. It’s adjustable where it matters.

Key Features

  • 32-way damping adjustment (fine control over compression/rebound feel)

  • Height-adjustable threaded bodies

  • Matched spring rates for balanced handling

  • Monotube damper design for consistent response

  • Direct bolt-on fitment

Translation: real tuning range without race-car headaches.

  • Full Steel Alloy Constructions With Aluminum Hardware
  • Mono-Tube Shocks Provide Larger Capacity of Oil And Gas
  • 32 Clicks of Rebound Force Adjustment
  • Full Length Adjustment – Lowers The Car Without Ruining Spring Tension
  • Independent Spring Tension – Custom Stiffness Without Change Ride Height

Lowering an S197 the Right Way

Yes, it lowers the car. More importantly, it keeps suspension travel usable.

Smart drop ranges:

  • 1.0–1.5 inches: Best for daily driving + spirited runs

  • 1.5–2.0 inches: Aggressive street stance (alignment becomes mandatory)

Go lower than that and you’ll introduce bump steer, bottoming, and regret. Hyper-Street II lets you set ride height independently so damping still works as intended.

Ride Quality: Adjustable Beats Guesswork

The big win here is 32 damping levels.

  • Softer settings = daily comfort, less harshness

  • Middle settings = balanced street performance

  • Stiffer settings = sharper response, reduced roll

Compared to worn OEM suspension:

  • Less bounce over bumps

  • Better body control

  • More planted highway feel

It’s firm when you want it, civil when you don’t. Imagine that.

Alignment After Install (Do This or Buy Tires Monthly)

Lowering an S197 always changes alignment geometry.

What changes:

  • Increased negative camber up front

  • Toe shifts out of spec (tire killer #1)

  • Caster affects straight-line stability and steering return

Strongly recommended:

  • Professional alignment at final ride height

  • Caster/camber plates if lowering beyond ~1.25”

  • Keep toe near factory specs for street use

Good suspension with bad alignment is just expensive tire abuse.

Handling Gains You’ll Actually Feel

Once installed and aligned, expect:

  • Sharper turn-in

  • Reduced nose dive under braking

  • Less body roll

  • More confidence mid-corner

No, it won’t turn your Mustang into a GT4 car—but it will finally feel composed instead of floaty.

Build Quality & Ownership Notes

  • Durable powder-coated components

  • Rebuildable monotube dampers

  • Periodic inspection recommended (like any adjustable setup)

Install tip: Anti-seize the threads. Adjustable coilovers that seize are just red paperweights.

Upon making my purchase they seemed like solid coilover. When I went to install them however, the sway bar end links are not on car 2 way adjustable as I assumed. Which makes it very difficult to set up droop travel and corner balance. Then after I was going to tighten everything. To my surprise the top strut tower bolts stripped from the camber plates before I could fully torque them down to spec. Had to improvise to get them to tighten up. Now after just 1 month there is too much odd popping coming from front under braking. As well as the rear adjustment knobs for the rear shocks are too stiff to adjust dampening.I’d go with something else on my next coilover purchase. These were a big waste of time and money.
