Why Rear Air Shocks Fail on GM SUVs & Trucks
Rear air shocks handle ride height control, load leveling, and comfort—especially when towing, hauling, or carrying passengers. Over time, seals wear, air bladders leak, and damping degrades.
Common failure symptoms:
-
Rear sagging or uneven ride height
-
Harsh or bouncy ride
-
Suspension warning messages
-
Compressor running excessively
-
Poor towing stability
Replacing both rear air shocks at the same time is critical for balanced suspension performance.
What This Rear Air Shock Assembly Pair Includes
-
(2) Rear air shock absorber assemblies
-
Integrated air bladder
-
OE-style damping and valving
-
Factory-style mounting points
-
Correct air line interface
No retrofitting. No conversion kits. Just proper air ride restoration.
Ride Quality, Load Control & Performance Benefits
Once installed, you’ll notice:
-
Restored factory ride height
-
Improved load leveling under cargo or towing
-
Smoother ride over bumps
-
Reduced rear-end bounce
-
Proper suspension response from factory system
This isn’t about lowering or stiffening—it’s about getting your Escalade, Tahoe, or Yukon back to riding the way GM intended.

Installed on my 2017 Suburban Premier about a week ago. Wasn’t hard to install and so far I have had no issues. It rides like new again.
Amazon Customer –
Good so far, recommend to save oem clips.

Installed on July 31 2025.. They fit my 2016 GMC 1500 Denali perfect. Ride is so much better. My struts were leaking and were a mess. Only had one issue the nuts seem to be not as durable as the OEM so I reused the originals see image. Only question is longevity so have a 1600 mile trip ahead so we shall see how they due on the road and will update them. Also no codes as of yet.

Bought this for a 2017 Suburban when installed causes a service suspension warning light contact amazon they sent a replacement and the second one did the same thing. I would be very cautious about ordering these if you’re in the market.
Conrad Gorman –
Install wasn’t too bad and seem to work just like stock one month in. No complaints.

Exactly as described in the image, it was perfect for my very good car. The delivery was fast and even though the box was quite heavy, they were very careful. Thank you
