OCPTY Coilovers Suspension Lowering Kit Adjustable Height Full Coil Springs Struts Shock fit for 2005-2014 for Ford for Mustang

If your 2005–2014 Ford Mustang (S197) still rides like Ford assumed every road was freshly paved, the OCPTY Adjustable Height Coilover Suspension Kit is a practical fix. This is a full coilover replacement system—springs, struts, and shocks—that lowers the car, tightens handling, and modernizes ride feel without pretending it’s a track-only weapon.

This kit is built for daily-driven S197 Mustangs that want better stance and control without unnecessary complexity or wallet trauma.

  • FITS THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES – The Coilovers Struts fit for 2005-2014 for Ford for Mustang
  • IMPROVE HANDLING PERFORMANCE – We use shock absorption with higher quality materials to meet the shock absorption demand. When the support force of the coilover is higher, the swinging amplitude of the body is naturally lower, which enhances the tires grounding performance and improves the vehicle tracking, so the drivers handling experience becomes more intuitive
  • ENHANCE DURABILITY – The coilover suspension shock is made of high-quality materials, special surface treatment, and the durability is greatly improved. The products pass the aging check and have a longer life
  • IMPROVE DRIVING STABILITY – After installing the adjustable coilovers, the center of gravity of the car can be lowered closer to the ground and driving is more stable. As the distance between the vehicle body and the ground is reduced and the wind resistance is reduced, the fuel consumption is also reduced, and the phenomenon of cornering and rolling is reduced to ensure safe driving
  • ATTENTION – Our Coilovers struts are perfectly matched to the original car. We provide them with one year of after-sales service. Please check the product description and Amazon vehicle list carefully before purchasing, check your vehicles year/make/model/trim/engine or VIN to avoid purchase errors

What This Coilover Kit Actually Does

OCPTY coilovers replace the factory spring and strut assemblies with height-adjustable coilover units at all four corners.

Real-world benefits:

  • Lower center of gravity

  • Reduced body roll

  • Improved braking stability

  • More predictable steering response

Translation: the Mustang stops floating and starts behaving.

Lowering an S197 Mustang: Numbers That Won’t Ruin It

This kit supports adjustable ride height, typically allowing a 1.0–2.0 inch drop, depending on setup.

Recommended ride heights:

  • 1.0–1.5 inches: Best balance for daily driving

  • 1.5–2.0 inches: Aggressive street stance (alignment becomes mandatory)

Lower than that and you’ll introduce:

  • Reduced suspension travel

  • Increased bump steer

  • Bottoming out on real roads

Lowering works when suspension geometry still works. This kit keeps things functional, not just low for photos.

Ride Quality: Firm, Controlled, Livable

Compared to worn factory suspension, expect:

  • Firmer ride with better damping control

  • Less bouncing over uneven pavement

  • Improved highway stability

This setup is tuned for street use, not punishment. You’ll feel the road—but not regret installing it every commute.

Alignment After Installation (Read This or Buy Tires Monthly)

Lowering an S197 always changes alignment geometry.

What changes:

  • Increased negative camber up front

  • Toe shifts out of spec (tire killer #1)

  • Steering return affected by caster

Strongly recommended:

  • Professional alignment after install

  • Caster/camber plates if lowering beyond ~1.25”

  • Align the car at its final driving height

Proper alignment = better grip, longer tire life, and a Mustang that tracks straight instead of wandering.

Handling Improvements You’ll Notice

Once installed and aligned, OCPTY coilovers deliver:

  • Sharper turn-in

  • Reduced nose dive under braking

  • Less body roll in corners

  • More confidence at speed

It won’t turn your Mustang into a road course legend—but it will feel significantly tighter and more modern than stock.

Build Quality & Ownership Notes

  • Full front and rear coilover assemblies

  • Threaded bodies for height adjustment

  • Direct bolt-on replacement for factory components

  • Best paired with fresh sway bar end links and bushings

Install tip: Anti-seize the threads. Adjustable suspension that won’t adjust later is just decorative.

I ordered this coilovers kit and I installed the front two perfectly fine thinking it was going too well, and I was right. I had the rear shocks and springs removed from the car and was about to put the new ones on when I realized my kit didn’t come with the two required adjusters that sit under the rear springs. Since I didn’t have those pieces, I have to put the rear shocks and springs on and request the missing parts. But who knows how long that process will take…

I found these easy to install and work great with my vehicle. The only reason I didn’t give them a five star rating is because I’m trying to chase down a squeak.
