The NOCO Boost GB40 is a highly recommended addition to any vehicle’s emergency kit. It is a reliable, high-quality, and user-friendly device that performs its primary function—safely jump-starting a vehicle—with exceptional competence. The added utility of the power bank and flashlight makes it an outstanding investment that provides genuine peace of mind. While larger engines may require a step-up model, for the vast majority of drivers, the GB40 is the perfect blend of power, portability, and advanced safety.

I’m extremely satisfied with the NOCO Boost Sport. It’s compact, strong, and easy to use. I use it both personally and for my auto parts business, where I often buy salvage vehicles that need to be started. This jump starter has been tested and works perfectly — I’ve started up to 4 vehicles with dead batteries using the boost mode and around 6 vehicles with low charge without any issues. It’s very practical, charges fast, and feels durable. I would definitely buy it again. Highly recommended for anyone who needs a reliable jump starter for daily or professional use!

This is by far the best thing you can get for yourself or for those who travel alone. It takes about 2 hours to charge the pack. It functions very well for its size and weight. It’s small enough to fit under a seat for easy access. This has come in handy when Jump starting a dead battery. I was able to jump a dead battery 4 different times after I fully charged the pack itself.

This is definitely a must have it you own a vehicle. Holds a great charge and does what it supposed to do. Depending on usage, I would suggest charging it after every 2nd use.

so far so good, it works and is simple to use.but the on-off button or the light button is easily turned on when you throw it in the bag it came with.other than that, i really wish it had more USB connections than the one USB-A connection.which is weird because the charge port is USB-C

The NOCO Boost Plus GB40 is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Now, three more members of my family have one. I purchased one for my motorcycle since sometimes I don’t ride for a while due to travel or weather. This gives me peace of mind knowing I can start the motorcycle no matter what. I once had to use it when commuting from work because I didn’t notice I had left the flashlights on all day. Eventually, I ended up getting a GENIUS5, also from NOCO, to keep my battery charged. Since then, I haven’t used the GB40, but I still keep it in my pannier, charged just in case.I was so happy with the GB40 that I recommended it to a family member. They got it and, fortunately, didn’t need to use it. Then, on a recent trip to visit them, one of their cars had been parked for a couple of days with some lights turned on. The battery was completely dead, showing less than a Volt on a multimeter. Of course, the NOCO starter didn’t recognize the battery as it was too low. We used the boost mode and were able to start the car with no issues. My family was so happy with the result that they bought two more to have one in each car. What I like:It has safety checks to prevent sparks, shorts, and reverse polarity (this also detects the voltage on the battery, which means if the battery has very low charge, it will fail to start in the normal mode). The boost mode disables all safety checks and works similarly to using cables from one car to another. This is a bit risky and you don’t want to use it often, but when you need it, it’s a relief to have. The cables are short and seem of good quality. The crocodile clamps have a firm grip without damaging battery connectors. It’s not bulky; I keep mine in one of the motorcycle panniers and it doesn’t take up much space. I probably should have bought the GB20, which also has the boost mode but is cheaper, and for a motorcycle would be more than enough. However, I vaguely remember it was not available when I got mine. I don’t regret it, though, as the GB40 can start a motorcycle (even a car) several times before needing to be charged again. You can use it as a lamp or emergency light, and also as a power bank for your phone or any other small device. What I don’t like:Storing it in the provided bag works but feels a bit messy. Other models, such as the GB70, can accommodate the clamps on the starter, which seems much cleaner. There is a case you can buy, but that will consume space, which, in my case using a motorcycle, is not much of an option. The boost mode is not really a boost, just a safety-disabled mode. I don’t like when companies use misleading names just to have a selling point.About the specs:I have no way to verify the claimed specs in the description, such as the 1000 Amps of discharge, but from a user’s perspective, it works with cars and motorcycles with no issues, even with flat dead batteries. In conclusion, I think this is a must-have. Hopefully, you don’t need to use it, but like insurance, you’ll be really happy to have it if you ever find yourself in a situation where you need it.

Best jump starter ive used. I manage a fleet of 53 trucks and have gone through many jump packs, both expensive and cheap, large and small. I bought one of these over 2 years ago for the fleet, and its still rockin like new. It holds its charge and is able to do multiple jumps on a charge. The best part is how small it is, I have had alternators die or belts fall off, and was able to hook this jumper up to the battery, close the hood, and drive back to the shop. That itself earns 5 stars, saved me a few tow truck bills. Since its small I have no problem handing it to someone and they can keep it in the truck just in case. Finally decided to buy one for myself after testing it out on the fleet for so long. If its on sale less than $100, definitely buy it!
