Ordered 2 shocks for my Mercury & one of the shocks had a stripped stem/stud. It looked fine, but the nut that came with the shocks would not thread. Retuned & waiting for replacement to arrive. No problem with the other shock. Installed within minutes. I believe it was a tampered or a return, because the box had a clear tape sealing the box. The other box was glued shut. Just check the box.

Excellent replacement for rear shock absorbers on 2006 Lincoln Town Car. Even though the air suspension works well, replacing the original shocks after 100K miles made a huge difference. No more bottoming over railroad crossings. Worth every penny!

The shocks made the vehicle ride like new.You can tell the difference on ride quality. Super smooth can’t feel the road .

The town car that these shocks are to go on is parked for the winter. They look like they will fit perfect. I will let you know more about it when it warms up. 1-15-2014 It warmed up a bit so I installed these Monroe shocks today. I removed the back wheels one at a time, and the helper shocks were right there. I did not even have to get under the car. It took about 10 min. on each side. They fit perfect. I ” WOULD ” recommend these shocks, and the price is “GREAT “.

Overall my ride is better than my old pair which was worn out however I don’t truly believe these are intended for the 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis I installed them on. The bottom portion did NOT fit without using a grinder to take off a significant portion. And I ordered a pair… Had the exact same issue on both sides of the car! Additionally the rubber bushings do not perfectly clone the original bushings so I just tried to emulate how they should fit.Instructions would’ve been highly appreciated for this as I was uncertain how to install the bushings. For similar value maybe you should try another brand or style.

I always use Monroe shocks and struts when available and applicable. I installed a pair of these on the rear of my 2005 Lincoln Town Car today (09-03-2021) Both arrived ahead of schedule, both work great, and I’m very pleased with the price and performance! 5 stars!

2010 Lincoln Town Car Executive L Monroe OE Spectrum everyone told me I would be disappointed because of the twin tube Design vs the OEM Mono Tube Design. Me personally this shock is soft enough to add the additional comfort that compliments the air ride more then the factory mono tube shock and yet supports the vehicle weight and provides the perfect amount of control. I have driven with Air Ride on and off and the Monroe OE Spectrum Shocks has held up well.Update April 2021,So I had purchased these and initially the shock was firm yet soft but after the initial 4 month break in period that all shocks go through before setting in I have concluded that the shock is indeed way to soft and having a extended wheel base the shock is not firm enough to support the vehicle weight over Portland roads it bottoms out with air ride on and with no other rear suspension issues the car response is more on the loose side.
