🔧 Why This maXpeedingrods Kit Converts Buyers

This kit focuses on simplicity, value, and real-world results.

What You’re Getting:

  • Height-adjustable coilover suspension

  • Preset damping (no tuning guesswork)

  • 1–3 inch adjustable lowering range

  • Matched spring rates for SN95/New Edge chassis

  • Blue anodized threaded shock bodies

  • Complete front & rear coilover assemblies

  • Direct bolt-on installation

👉 Translation: you get stance + handling without chasing knobs or sacrificing comfort.

📉 Lowering Your Mustang (Do This Smart)

Yes, this kit can drop the car up to 3 inches—but physics still applies.

Recommended ride heights:

  • 1.0–1.5 inches: Best daily-driving balance

  • 1.5–2.0 inches: Aggressive street stance (alignment required)

  • 2.0–3.0 inches: Show-focused (expect geometry compromises)

Lowering works when suspension travel still exists. Instagram doesn’t care—your spine does.

🛣️ Ride Quality: Preset and Street-Friendly

Preset damping means the suspension is already tuned for daily use.

Compared to worn OEM suspension:

  • Firmer, more controlled ride

  • Reduced body roll

  • Less bouncing over bumps

  • Better highway stability

Compared to track-focused coilovers:

  • More compliance

  • Less harshness

  • No constant adjustments

Sporty enough to feel upgraded. Comfortable enough to live with.

No, it won’t turn your Mustang into a time-attack car.
Yes, it will finally stop feeling vague and floaty.

Product description

Coilovers for Ford Mustang Base/GT SN95 1994-2004

📐 Alignment (Mandatory, Not Optional)

Lowering a 94–04 Mustang always affects alignment.

Strongly recommended:

  • Alignment at final ride height

  • Caster/camber plates (especially past ~1.25” drop)

  • Toe set close to factory specs for street use

Bad alignment kills tires. Not coilovers.

🛠️ Build Quality & Ownership Notes

  • Durable blue anodized finish

  • Threaded bodies for precise height adjustment

  • Designed for long-term street use

  • Minimal maintenance required

Install tip: Use anti-seize on threads. Adjustable suspension that seizes later is just expensive garage décor.

👤 Who This Kit Is Best For

✔ Daily-driven SN95 & New Edge Mustangs
✔ Budget-conscious suspension upgrades
✔ Clean stance + improved handling
✔ Owners replacing tired OEM struts

❌ Track-only builds
❌ Extreme slammed setups
❌ “Alignment is optional” thinkers

🛒 Why Choose maXpeedingrods Over Cheaper Kits?

  • Proven street-focused tuning

  • Better ride quality than bargain coilovers

  • Full replacement value

  • Excellent cost-to-performance ratio

Cheap suspension always feels cheap—eventually.

Okay, Ill try my best to give the most descriptive review: The front coilovers do drop the front end a bit depending on how you adjust the height. The front also make a little noise (creaking) but does the job. And during the front end installation, you will need to shave off the skirts on the nuts, other than that the factory hardware does work. You can adjust the spring rate using the middle and top discs. You’re also able to adjust camber on the front end but not the rear end. Moving on to the rear end, the rear springs will not fit. If you install the rear end springs, they will pop out while on the road. There is also a cylindrical object you use with the spring that is supposed to adjust the ride height in the rear. The shocks do fit though. There is no new hardware nor instructions included. So the conclusion is that you are buying these for the front end. Don’t buy these if you’re wanting to have both ends dropped.

They keep coming loose and I keep having to readjust them and now the right one came detached from the top and got lodged in my wheel well. Drove from Grand Rapids MI to Traverse City like this in a damn Blizzard.
