Why Replacing the Complete Fuel Pump Assembly Matters
Nissan fuel systems are extremely sensitive to pressure consistency. Replacing only the pump motor while leaving a worn sending unit or clogged strainer behind is how drivability issues come back fast—usually worse.
This complete assembly includes:
-
High-pressure electric fuel pump
-
Fuel level sending unit
-
Pre-filter strainer (sock)
-
Internal pressure regulation components
-
OE-style housing and electrical connectors
One install. One fix. No repeat failures.
This electric fuel pump module assembly is designed to restore factory fuel delivery in FIT Nissan Altima, Maxima, and Quest models equipped with 2.5L or 3.5L engines. Built for non-California emission systems only.
Compatible with:
– FIT 2004 Nissan Altima 2.5L / 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5L / 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5L / 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2004 Nissan Maxima 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2005 Nissan Maxima 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2006 Nissan Maxima 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2007 Nissan Maxima 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2008 Nissan Maxima 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2004 Nissan Quest 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2005 Nissan Quest 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2006 Nissan Quest 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2007 Nissan Quest 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2008 Nissan Quest 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
– FIT 2009 Nissan Quest 3.5L Fuel Pump Assembly
Performance & Drivability Benefits
Whether it’s the 2.5L inline-four or the 3.5L VQ V6, weak fuel delivery causes hesitation, lean conditions, rough idle, and poor throttle response—especially noticeable on acceleration and hot starts.
Installing a new fuel pump assembly:
-
Restores factory fuel pressure (PSI)
-
Improves cold and hot starts
-
Eliminates hesitation and random stalling
-
Stabilizes injector operation
-
Fixes inaccurate fuel gauge readings
No power gains—but your Nissan will stop acting broken.

Safety & Installation Notes
Fuel pumps operate submerged in gasoline for cooling and lubrication. As pumps age, current draw increases, heat builds up, and wiring stress becomes a real issue—common on mid-2000s Nissans.
Best practices:
-
Disconnect battery before installation
-
Relieve fuel system pressure
-
Replace fuel filter after install
-
Avoid consistently running the tank below ¼ full
This unit is vehicle-specific and plug-and-play. No splicing. No universal hacks.
Replaces OE Part Numbers: E8545M, 17040-7Y000, 17040-9J300, 17040-ZB00A, 17040-ZD80B, FG0987, P76169M, SP4013M

Direct replacement for our 2014 Buick Enclave. Will update if things change. If you have this model vehicle you have to drop the fuel tank. I found mixed information, but the repair manual straightened it out. There are newer models that have an access panel in front of the second row of seats. Which would of course make the change simpler and faster. But it’s not bad. Roughly about 1-hour of total work having to drop the fuel tank and change out the fuel pump. Well with a impact wrench. Our issue was that my wife had just filled her tank up and we had to drain the tank… In which was a pain due to the anti-syphoning setup… You can’t just stick a hose in the fill tube and syphon the gas out. A lot of vehicle manufacturers put blockers in there back in like the 70’s or 80’s. Maybe a super small long like 1/8″ hose would work, if it doesn’t get stuck. I’ve never understood why there isn’t a dang drain plug in the fuel tank.Anyway, my motorcycle jack stand worked great for holding and lowering the fuel tank. It’s large on these cars and by using ramps under the back wheels there was plenty of room to do everything. If we didn’t have fuel in the tank or if it was empty enough, I would have just unhooked the filler tube hose at the bottom instead of disconnecting it from the body at the fill cap. We ended up having to unhook the filler tube hose in order to syphon fuel out anyway. Our driveway has a very slight slant and then having the back wheels toward the top of the driveway and the rear wheels on ramps there was enough vehicle slant for it to not leak fuel everywhere when we popped that hose off to syphon out 12 or so gallons of fuel to lighten up the weight.Anyway, pretty straight forward and working as it should. I made sure to emphasize with the family to NOT run their cars out of gas. It trashes the life of these types of fuel pumps.Hope this helps!

Got it, installed it and could not get the lock ring to go back in place. Tried for 3 days and it would not lock fully which caused it to leak fuel. Finally took it to a local shop- turns out the new gasket was either incorrect or mis-manufactured and was too large in thickness preventing the lock ring from sealing . Reused the old seal and haven’t had an issue since. New fuel pump fixed a long crank cycle as well as some lean codes.

Old one out, new one in, plug and play baby. Fit like a dream toughest part was getting that lock ring back on lol, I’d recommend getting that tool as well… But overall quality product.

PERFECTA PARA MI NISSAN ALTIMA 2005 MOTOR 205
Gus Garbe –
poor quality. after install Fuel gage doesn’t always respond. not sure if its sticking or just not sending a signal. pump worked well pressure wise, and it corrected the backflow issues i was having with the OME pump but this pump only lasted 2 months before it lost pressure. when cycling the key, you can hear the pump but there is no pressure at the fuel rail.

Chrysler Sebring Fuel Pump.
I replaced my old Sebring Fuel Pump, due to the Car’s age. After all, the Car was built/manufactured in 2007. So its Seventeen years old. My old Sebring, has only done about 50K in mileage, however its not just mileage one takes into consideration when replacing them, one has to consider every time you start your Car, your Fuel Pump is being used. In other words its a Wear & Tear matter. Would I Recommend this Fuel Pump? Of course I would. It’s not too expensive & it works fine. Sincerely Folks. JJM Glasgow UK.
