I always change out my air filter before an oil change with is normally a good time to put in a new one. The markup at auto shops and oil change places is significant so I replace it myself. Takes about 8 minutes and saves a lot of money. I also use Fram internal cabin air filters as replacements about once a year. This is one of the few maintenance items you can actually do yourself on cars that are manufactured today.
