Why This Combo Kit Makes Sense
On Civics and CSXs of this generation, the front struts usually fail first (they do the heavy lifting), while the rear shocks fade quietly until the ride turns floaty. This kit targets both ends for balanced suspension performance—without paying for parts you don’t need.
Front assemblies handle:
-
Ride height
-
Steering response
-
Brake dive
Rear shocks restore:
-
Stability
-
Bounce control
-
Highway confidence
Everything works together again, the way Honda intended.
Front Complete Strut Assemblies = Faster, Safer Install
The front units arrive fully assembled, which means:
-
New gas-charged struts
-
Pre-installed coil springs (matched rate)
-
New upper mounts and isolators
No spring compressor. No reused mounts. Less labor, less risk.

Installed them on my Honda Civic, worked and fit perfectly! The installation was not too complicated on this kind of vehicle 🚗, which turned out to be only a couple of hours! My vehicle runs better, suspension feels sturdy and smoother ride! Price is affordable, deal was great for the quality!

EXACT OEM Fitment for 2008 Honda Civic EX.Was a piece of cake to install.Product looks beautifully crafted when viewed alone. When held, it confirms the theory formed by the eyes: this is the good stuff.Car has NEVER handled this well. These are firm for tracking and stability but absorb miserable Colorado roads with ease. They are quiet. And people in low-slung, Porsche produced, corner crazed conquerers of the curve look mighty surprised as my stock Civic channels the sublime arts of engineering and consistent craftsmanship with the skilled fluidity of an experienced driver flies past them across the apex of a twinned lane under full acceleration and are down the straights before they realize that they have irrevocably lost the lead. To a twelve years old, four door sedan.Well played, Detroit Axle. Well played indeed. You have my gratitude.Update: Detroit Axle is greedy, irresponsible, incompetent, dismissive and disrespectfully rude. It’s a crap shoot to see if their parts will fit your application correctly. I am done with these people after yet another screw up of incorrect parts and weeks without a vehicle. Save you money and buy from the manufacturer. Detroit Axle will cost you far more in aggravation and time.

Only drove the car a few miles but I could feel the difference in the ride. I would highly recommend Detroit Axel for parts. A few years back I bought a rack & pinion for a Lexus. I had to return the axel because I made a mistake & bought the wrong one. No problem they swapped it out with no problems. So the 2 times I used them I have had a good story to tell. This is why I highly recommend them for parts. As far as I can tell they are just as good as the original equipment and much cheaper. Another nice thing is they give a 10 year warranty. Thank you Detroit Axel

After installation, right away the front are ok but the back are very noisy even worse than the old shockthat I had. I gave it a month to try and see if it will loosen and improve. Nothing happen even after 2 months. I was asking company if I could at least have a discount because when I realize it was past the window to return but nothing was given. It did not work for us.

3 years later (30k miles) still rides great. I was skeptical at first but took a chance. It was stiff at start for the first 3000 miles. Great product for the price.

At the time of installation, I noticed that the shock absorbers didn’t have matching hardware. One shock had a single nut and only one rubber suspension mount. The included “parts bag” contained a couple of mismatch items that didn’t fit the shock tops and the included nuts were the wrong size/thread. Luckily, I had a second vehicle to use to go to a local hardware store where I brought one shock to try and find a pair of M10 very fine thread nuts. The nuts from the original shocks were not the same size/thread. I was forced to use the OEM existing rubber components to complete the installation. The shocks ride fine but they’re definitely not a first quality product with the upper cover assembly being made of plastic. The front struts did seem to be quality products and installation was very easy. I might recommend buying rear shocks of higher quality separately instead of this package. The test ride after installation felt like a different vehicle, so I think overall I’m going to be pleased.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching a YouTube video of the installation process before diving in. After I watched a couple of installation videos, I decided to do my brakes, which gave me access to all the mounting hardware and I was able to apply penetrating oil and ensure the large hardware wasn’t frozen or going to cause any major problems.
