What is a micron?
The average size of the openings between pieces of the filter media are represented in microns. A micron compares the size of common allergens. As a general rule, the smaller micron rating is for a filter, the better the filter is. For example, a 20-micron filter has larger openings than a 5-micron filter. Consequently, the 20-micron filter element will let larger particles pass through the filter than the 5-micron media would. Under 2 minutes to replace in my 2022 Ford Lightning Lariat ER. Popped the glove compartment out, pulled the old filter, inserted this and put the glove compartment back in. Bosch makes quality stuff, so expecting this will be just fine for the next 12 months, and at $21 + 2 minutes of time – significantly better than the cost at a shop of $40-50 + the time to drive and wait there.

The filter itself is a good product. However Amazon shipped it in one of their large paper stock envelopes and the product’s packaging and product itself was crunched a bit in shipping. Filter is still usable but the filter media and frame have some minor distortion (not too critical to be rejected or unusable). Amazon should ship in a regular cardboard box.
