Why You Need This Valve Cover
Because the original BMW valve cover ages like a sun-baked croissant.
This upgrade fixes:
-
Valve cover oil leaks
-
Cracked OEM plastic
-
Oil in spark plug tubes
-
Burning oil odors
-
PCV system vacuum leaks
-
Idle instability and misfires
-
Check engine lights caused by crankcase pressure issues
If you’ve owned your BMW longer than five minutes, you know this is coming.

I bought this instead of picking up a kit from my typical places like FCP or ECS. I thought, even the OE valve covers end up or having the PCB break pretty quick so why not save some money and take a chance? Well it’s half the price of most others and fit perfectly, no problems or leaks of any kind, PCV works perfectly. Only knocked off a star because of packaging. Box came torn up and it was not secured very well.

I’m an experienced mechanic working with Ford and my own different cars. This is an upgrade more expensive unfortunately I a problem with the top 5 bolt holes lining up after making sure the cover is down over the BMW dowels in the uppper front and lower left rear. the lower 2 middle bolt holes don’t line up to screw in the bolts . I am not satified with this unit cast molding. Lucky I decided to order the plastic as a backup and today I will remove the aluminun to return and hopefully the plastic will fit correctly. Also the right corner mold to allow a screw on ccv plate creates a problem getting to the rear bolts which are already a pin. I would love to talk with the company tech to see if they have had some rejects which aren’t going to mentioned in our reviews.

Really blown away by the top quality of this valve cover. The entire box came wrapped in black plastic, to protect it from the rain which I really liked because there was a terrential downpour at our house when it was delivered. It wasn’t like done by the delivery place it came that way. I personally couldn’t bring myself to buy a new one from BMW in plastic for 650 dollars. That’s stupid. I did however buy genuine BMW eccentric sensor, valve cover gaskets, breather tube, because I’ve read a lot that even the Elring brand ones leak. That being a gasket issue not the valve cover itself. Luxury cars are fussy. You do not want to install a cheap sensor or gasket trust me. This job is not for the faint of heart either. It’s not awful but it’s not for everyone if it’s done right, is all I’m going to say. Anyway very pleased with the quality of the valve cover itself for 130 bucks

Should not buy this
Made out of plastic, not aluminum as advertised. 2 bolts are missing “both bolts that are not fixed on the cover”. Will never buy anything from this brand ever again

High quality metal valve cover with good gaskets included. The way it should’ve came from factory.
Well made! Proper gaskets, no leaks. I first changed my family’s E90 328 2012 BMW XI valve cover gasket along with, the eccentric motor and sensor gasket, but came back with a leak on lower valve cover, later found out it was either the original plastic cover warped, or wrong torque values on the bolts. Decided not to chase problems, so bought this metal valve cover set, installed, and no leaks at all, but do remember to use a torque wrench. I bought a 1/4 inch just for this job (with extension and swivel). Highly recommended. The gaskets are well made, no need to buy OEM BMW gaskets like some here have. My only tip is, use 1/4 torque wrench and for cylinder #3 and #4, trim the silo plastic, or you will risk cutting your ignition coil boot as the silo parts are plastic and molded a bit too thick. No fitment issues otherwise (valvetronic shaft motor went in without issues either). Do use your original oil fill cap! the included one is not well made and doesn’t click well.
