Ride Quality: Shockingly Good (Pun Intended)
This is where Air Lift Performance shines.
On the road:
-
Smoother than most static coilovers
-
Controlled over bumps and expansion joints
-
Reduced body roll vs stock suspension
-
Stable at highway speeds
Air springs behave progressively—so small bumps feel soft, while larger impacts are controlled. Combine that with quality dampers and the S197 suddenly feels… refined. Weird, right?
Vehicle Fitment
-
2005–2014 Ford Mustang
-
S197 chassis
-

-

(Yes, it handles. No, it’s not just for parking lots.)
Crafted for enthusiasts, supported by a rich heritage, Air Lift Performance Coilovers offer top-tier quality, a bold stance, and a responsive ride you can rely on.
Achieve a lowered position while maintaining excellent quality, designed for longevity and performance. Our coilovers are the ideal solution for obtaining a static setup with a lowered stance, without the need for air adjustability, yet still comfortable for daily driving.
Each kit is meticulously engineered with vehicle-specific mounts for a precise bolt-on installation. Additionally, it features vehicle-specific valving and internal pressure, providing a balance of comfort and performance tailored to your configuration.
What Makes Air Lift Performance Different
This system isn’t “bags slapped onto stock struts.” It’s a true coilover-based air suspension, engineered from the damper up.
Key Features
-
Monotube, performance-tuned dampers
-
Threaded shock bodies for preload and height adjustment
-
Air springs with progressive spring rate behavior
-
Designed to work with Air Lift Performance management systems
-
Direct bolt-on for S197 Mustang
Translation: you get comfort when cruising, control when driving, and adjustability whenever you want.
Air Lift Performance Coilovers come equipped with 32-way damping adjustment, monotube dampers, anodized aluminum damper bodies, top mounts, locking collars and spring perches, vehicle-specific upper and lower mounts for a bolt-on installation, and vehicle-specific valving. With the capability to convert to a complete air suspension system via a coilover-to-air conversion kit available April 2, 2025, you can enjoy your new static stance or switch to air when ready and lower your ride to the ground.
We’re passionate about the performance vehicle world and wanted to bring more of it into the Air Lift community, now supporting the lowered car community with air suspension and coilover options.
Alignment After Installation (Yes, Even on Air)
Air suspension does not exempt you from alignment laws of physics.
What changes:
-
Camber increases when lowering
-
Toe changes dramatically with ride height
-
Steering feel depends heavily on caster settings
Recommended setup:
-
Align the car at driving height
-
Adjustable caster/camber plates strongly recommended
-
Keep toe near factory specs for tire longevity
Align it aired out and drive it raised? Congrats—you just invented tire shredding.
Handling & Performance Benefits
Properly set up, Air Lift Performance delivers:
-
Improved turn-in vs stock
-
Less body roll
-
Better chassis balance
-
Consistent performance at speed
Is it a track-only setup? No.
Is it dramatically better than factory suspension? Absolutely.
Ownership & Install Notes
-
Requires air management system (sold separately)
-
Compressor, tank, and lines must be installed correctly
-
Periodic inspection recommended
-
Excellent support and parts availability
Pro tip: Don’t cheap out on install. Air lines routed poorly will ruin your day.
