Why Upgrade With the AEM 21-823DS?
-
Replaces both factory air boxes, tubes, and filters on left & right banks—addresses the dual-intake nature of the M37/Q70 V6.
-
Includes premium AEM Dryflow oil-free filters (washable & reusable) rated up to ~100,000 miles before cleaning under normal conditions.
-
Optimized airflow path for each bank ensures better response on each cylinder bank rather than a one-size-fits-all pipe.
-
Direct fit with proper MAF mounting and rubber-trimmed heat shields to minimize hot-air intake.
The AEM 21-823DS is a twin intake system designed for some Infinity Q70 models. The factory layout of this vehicle has individual throttle bodies for each bank of cylinders so each side has its own air intake system.
Key Features
-
Twin intake setup (left & right) to match dual throttle bodies.
-
Engineered heat-shielding with rubberized edge trim for thermal isolation.
-
Washable, reusable Dryflow synthetic filter media (oil-free).
-
Estimated gains: ~10 HP at ~3200 rpm (per AEM) on this application.
-
Build quality: High-density polyethylene intake pipes finished in black; clamps and couplers included.
-
Lifetime limited warranty from AEM.
This AEM air intake system replaces both the left and right factory air box, tube, and filter. This system includes the heat shield, intake tube, and AEM dry flow air filter on both left and right sides.
Performance Expectations
-
More responsive throttle input, especially on initial load and mid-RPM.
-
Extra breathing room for the 3.7L V6 under load (acceleration, passing, etc.).
-
A slightly more aggressive induction tone—your V6 will feel more alive without being obnoxious.
-
Maintains road-friendly drivability (stock ECU retains sensor calibration) since this is a well-engineered upgrade.
The cone shaped AEM Dry flow air filters are made from an oil-free, synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed (depending on driving conditions). Both factory MAF sensors mount directly on the intake tube.
Daily-Driver Friendly
Yes, upgrading your intake doesn’t mean sacrificing refinement:
-
Works with the factory ECU—no immediate tune required (though tuned optimisation always helps).
-
Dryflow filters simplify maintenance (no oiling, fewer hassle).
-
Designed for OEM fitment—no major modifications, preserving usability and reliability.
-
Emissions legal in many states (check CARB/E.O. status for your state).
The heatshield also has a rubberized edge trim to better isolate air from engine bay heat. The air intake system is backed by AEM. Some AEM air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards, while others are 50 state legal.
Installation Overview
-
Expect about 45–90 minutes with standard hand tools.
-
Remove both air boxes and intake tubes for each bank.
-
Install AEM heat shields and intake tubes (left & right).
-
Mount Dryflow filters, transfer MAF sensors to new tubes, secure couplers and clamps.
-
Double-check all mountings and clearances (especially around throttle bodies and engine bay heat sources).

As you see in pictures, product showed up unusable. I couldn’t even put a screw in one of the holes, like they didn’t even tap it. It had no threads to screw down mass air flow sensor. Didn’t notice til I got to other side.. Second reson Mass Air Flow Sensor doesn’t sit right in tube and pulls air all the way around and now car is throwing codes for Mass Air Flow Sensor and that’s me putting on one side because other side u can’t because of no threads on the brass part as shown in picture

These definitely fit. Just needed some slight adjustments. Also purchase a aftermarket tube.

Box came with missing parts and trying to reach someone at AEM is a joke! Finally Amazon had me send back the whole box, because they can’t just replace the missing part. After a few days of waiting for the whole new assembly, now I get it just to see that I’m missing the same exact part 😡😡😡. I knew that I should’ve kept the one that I had until the new one showed up. Now I have to try and purchase something that was supposed to be free in order to get my car done. Never again will AEM get any of my hard earned money smh
