I give this item 4 stars due to the heat shield being slightly too tall….But, This is a great addition to my 2025 Malibu. The engine has a small decent roar and acceleration feels significantly smoother when compared to using the stock air box.The most difficult part is removing the fuel line, takes more finesse, skill/technique, than force.I purchased the 13.99 Duralast set from Autozone, there are 5 plastic connectors, installation requires the 5/8″ tool for GM/Malibu. Overall, I like the look and performance. Others mentioned the gap with the hood closed, it isn’t too bad but is noticeable.Ignore the too small filter cover in the photo, I was sent an incorrect cover.

SLIGHTLY MORE DIFFICULT TO INSTALL THAN I ASSUMED BUT IT TOOK ONLY ABOUT 2O MIN. MY 2020 MALIBU LOOKS GREAT AND SOUNDS COOL RIDING DOWN THE ROAD NOW.

Had to cut down heat-shield by 1.5CM at the top. Filter hose clamp is very tight fit, so i just replaced it with a bigger hose clamp. Overall it’s a nice product, better than K&N intake for malibu

If you’re thinking about buying it just buy it. I promise you it’s worth it, Could not recommend this more if that is what you’re going for. You absolutely need a specific AC / PCV removal tool (harbor fright – the multi color pack with the finger tool hinge attached) or else you’re going to waste days attempting to get it released. The heat shield doesn’t fit properly and the hood won’t shut completely. However, once you overcome that headache, i PROMISE you’ll love the results of this intake system. AEM is the way to go with this mod.

I love this air intake, I had the k&n intake and the oiled filter on it caused issues with my mass air flow sensor so I had to remove it and get a new maf sensor. I got this a few days ago it takes about 20-30 minutes to install with a few simple tools a small ratchet with 10mm, 13mm & 15mm sockets. The hardest part about installing this whole thing is getting the pcv valve off of the old intake. It takes a bit of elbow grease. But with the right removal tool and some very strong wiggling back and fourth it will eventually break free as it did for me. It sounds amazing and looks awesome. The only issues I have is the heat shield is a bit tall for the Malibu hood and makes a small gap on the intake side of the hood. I contacted aem to see if they can send me a heat shield cut down smaller to fix it. It only needs about an inch or so cut off but I don’t have anything to cut it and make it look pretty so I’m seeing what they can do. The other thing is my kit did not come with the pcv valve removal tool so I had to go buy one. Make sure if you buy one you buy one that is tall enough to reach the connections on the inside. (You will see what I mean if you buy one too small) I made the mistake of buying the first set of plastic A/C Fuel line disconnects I seen. You need a 5/8 which I had but the plastic one was too short to reach the fitting on the inside. So I went back and bought a metal one with a longer reach and I got it off in 10 minutes. Overall this intake is awesome, I also bought the separate filter wrap just in case I use it in a very dusty or sandy area. I will update this review if I have any issues 5/22/2020.

Update: The hose clamps are a fight fit and the wall will need to be cut in order to be able to close the hood. I also had to use a different hose clamp as one of the included clamps was too small. The filter that came with mine was too large for the intake, but I called the manufacture and they sent me a new filter that fit.Initial review was as follows, 1 Star was given due to so many fitting issuesI’m not sure what they were doing at the factory, but most of the parts don’t fit together. The wall doesn’t fit in the car(okay, not a huge deal, just cut it to fit), 2 of the hose clamps don’t fit, they’re too small. And the included filter is too large for the intake. I’m going to contact AEM and at least see if I can get a filter that fits the intake(I think the 2nd hose clamp should fit then). Depending on my experience with customer service, I’ll update this review. But there is seriously no point in purchasing this intake(at this time) if the filter doesn’t even fit.
