The AEM 21-784C Performance Cold Air Intake System produces horsepower and torque gains by replacing your vehicle’s restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This air intake system was designed, tuned and dyno-tested to fit specific Acura ILX models.

Air enters the system through an oversized AEM Dry flow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration and performance. The air filter is located in the original air box location and is protected by a heat shield which is designed to reduce intake air temperature and increase horsepower.

Installation Snapshot

Remove the factory airbox and intake piping.

Install the AEM heat-shield/intake assembly per instructions.

Mount the new intake tube, attach the Dryflow filter.

Ensure clamps, sensors, and couplers are tight and properly seated.

Start the engine, listen for the induction tone, and monitor for any errors.

Definitely not an immediate power boost like some say, however the noises it makes is amazing. Genuinely a night and day driving experience. Fits well and fairly easy to install, took two teens about an hour to install including mild goofing. Instructions were very detailed and precise with good photos. Only complaint could be wish had some new hardware like the grommet on the back, mine tore when removing (probably my own fault, even listening to the soapy water tip) but thankfully AutoZone had one for cheap. Would definitely recommend not just power but sounds.

Fits perfectly and sounds great. Easy install with instructions. You won’t notice much of a hp difference obviously from only an additional 10-12hp. But I’m sure if you dynoed it you could see it on paper. Excellent product.

Bought this for my 2016 Acura ILX, fit’s perfectly. Took me about an hour or two to install. I don’t notice a big power gain, but the sound when the VTEC kicks in is AMAZING! (This is the only mod on my car). Sounds better than an exhaust. Makes it worth every penny. I recommend this product.
