The AEM 21-764C Performance Cold Air Intake System produces horsepower and torque gains by replacing your vehicle’s restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This air intake system was designed, tuned and dyno-tested to fit specific Volkswagen Jetta, Jetta GLI, and Passat models.

Air enters the system through an oversized AEM Dry flow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration and performance. Installation Snapshot

Steps:

Remove the factory airbox and intake tubing.

Install the AEM heat-shield or new intake tube per instructions.

Mount the Dryflow filter in the shield or designated location.

Transfer any necessary sensors or hoses from factory unit (MAF, PCV).

Tighten all clamps and check for clearances.

The intake works great after I had to bend it to it’s actual form it was caved in on the filter side and barely wanted to move.

This intake is just ok. I think it’s a 3″ pipe which ensures a massive amount of airflow, but this also provides a massive amount of turbulence at the diverter valve. If you’re running the stock diverter valve you will get the high pitched flute noise which indicates a leak due to turbulence. If you already have an aftermarket or are planning on installing an aftermarket diverter valve then I’m sure it works fine; I haven’t gotten around to it yet.Installation was a bit tricky just because it’s such a big pipe. Make sure it’s not resting on the master cylinder. I’m also not too convinced that the heat shield is all that great but I haven’t run diagnostics so I’m going off of how it looks under the hood. I think this is a great product for the price. The installation was a little tricky and I spent a lot of time afterwards readjusting the product. Everything is fine for now. I have used this intake for 4-6 months. Do not let the pipe rest on your brake master cylinder, you will experience vibrations through the brake pedal. Make sure the pipes are securely fastened so that the pipe does not become loosened and end up resting on your brake master cylinder. This is still a great product to have in conjunction with a blow off valve and/or a ecu tune. Also, the center support bracket just broke off. I would not recommend this product to anyone who wants a cold air intake long term.

Received intake about a week ago. Intake noise is much more noticeable. Install wasn’t difficult but annoying to line everything up and the PCV valve connection seemed too short. The push connection wouldn’t seat and I had to remove a tab from the stock connection for better fitment. Installed a Neuspeed tune module at the same time so I don’t notice any gains specific to the intake. Installed on a 2015 Jetta 1.8.

Installed this intake on my ’17 VW Passat 1.8T Gen3 and it made a big difference and wold recommend for anyone trying to improve performance on their 1.8T or any car for that matter. Made a noticeable difference and would make this purchase again. You can hear the air flow moving now especially when you get on it. My MPGs improved too. Would couple this with a few other mods as well (CTS throttle and turbo piping. $150 for each part to get rid of pancake piping). I also have a MagnaFlow 3″ exhaust, JB4 tuner, and CTS 3″ downpipe w/cat (90 degree O2 sensor-no CEL) and will NEED to get a Vibrant resonator (farts and sounds ridiculous)…but the car now moves!!! In any case…Installation was fairly easy. The hardest part was installing the PCV valve and clipping it in but don’t give up and follow the directions. I cut one corner and had to go back and basically install it again which didn’t take long. It does rub a bit on the spark plug plastic railing (no big deal. Just bend it a bit). Hopefully the bracket does not break on me do I will monitor accordingly. 1 month in and going well. Intake filter will be easy to clean down the road.

Good intake, easy install
Packaged well, shipped quickly and arrived in good shape.AEM makes quality products and couldn’t find a reason to pay more then this was when I bought it 290’ish with free shipping (prime membership)Read the provided instructions and def have a stubby Torx 30 for the screw on the back side of the engine, it’s extremely tight and couldn’t get a socket with Torx adapter and T30 in at all. Other wise straight forward. Only took me 30/40 mins
