Cabin Air Filters

Why Replace Your GM Cabin Air Filter?

A dirty cabin filter can make even a luxury Cadillac smell like a bowling alley. Replacing it:

  • Restores clean airflow

  • Reduces odors and contaminants

  • Helps HVAC run more efficiently

  • Protects passengers from allergens

  • Keeps interior air fresh and breathable

This is one of the easiest and cheapest maintenance items you’ll ever do — and one of the most noticeable.

ACDelco Cabin Air Filter

ACDelco GM OE Cabin Air Filters

Our Cabin Air Filters are specifically designed and engineered for your GM Vehicle. The true OE part installed during production of GM vehicles.

Looking for an alternative option?

ACDelco Gold cabin air filters are the high quality alternative to GM OE parts. These cabin air filters are manufactured to meet your expectations for fit, form, and function.

When should air filters be changed?

Your vehicle’s owner’s manual will state filter change intervals, but air filters can last for up to 50000 miles. You will need to replace the air filter more often if you drive on dirt roads or live in a unclean area.

Does it take a long time to change the air filter?

No, an air filter usually only takes a few minutes to replace and is simple to do on your own.

Maintenance Tips

  • Replacing your vehicle’s filters on a regularly scheduled basis may help the vehicle run more efficiently. (Refer to your owner’s manual for your vehicle’s specific filter change intervals).
  • You will need to replace the air filter more often if you frequently drive on dirt roads or live in a unclean area. This will help protect the internal parts of the engine from premature wear.
  • If your vehicle is equipped with a cabin air filter, change that too. A dirty cabin air filter reduces the airflow through the vehicle’s ventilation system. See your owner’s manual to determine if your vehicle is equipped with a cabin air filter.
At GM Genuine Parts and ACDelco, we strive to blend quality and expertise to keep you moving forward

Fit my 2012 Cruze perfectly! Great price, relatively easy to install ( must remove glovebox) and met the quality of the manufacturer’s one I removed. I like the charcoal and it was worth the extra cost to purchase this 2 stage filter, it works great – airflow was greatly increased due to the old one being so dirty!

This was purchased for a friend for his Gen2 (2017) Chevy Volt. The filter came in a plastic bag labelled with part numbers, ‘Made in Mexico’, a warning that this cannot be returned if opened, and a Detroit Michigan address. This item comes with no instructions at all. There is no description online that I can find or on the packaging on specifics of this filter, except that it fits this vehicle. The item itself is an exact fit to replace the one that came with the car. The filter is darker in color, which may indicate that it is a carbon filter, but again, no description anywhere online. The filter has less folds than the one that came with the car, but it is definitely heavier and thicker to make up for it. The price here is a bargain, considering my friend called 2 Chevy dealerships for this, and one asked for $80, and the other asked for $50, and its is special order only from your standard auto parts store at double what amazon is selling it for.Installation into a Gen2 Volt is a perfect example of how not to cut costs to reduce the price of a car. In a Gen1, you could simply change the cabin filter via a slot in the back of the glove compartment. On a Gen2, you will need a 7mm socket wrench of 5 inches or longer in length. There is a panel to the right of the glove compartment that the door rests on when closed you need to pull off (umm, do this when the door is open though). there is a 7mm hex screw you need to remove there, and 4 more around the edges of the glove compartment and inside the glove box itself. Once all 5 total are removed, you can simply pull the glove box out, and reveal the compartment for the filter. There are some great youtube videos to demonstrate this. This was the first time my friend changed his filter in 3 years. Immediately noticeable was a better smelling car, increased air flow from the AC, and for some reason a quicker time for air to cool when the AC is turned on. Please don’t wait 3 years like my friend did. You will find some possibly really gross things trapped in there that may have been the cause of the foul smelling air in the car.

Fits my 2016 Buick Encore, had to YouTube a video to make sure I installed it the right way. After that it was pretty simple. Changing the air cabin filter instantly improved the odor in my car when the A/C is running. Whenever possible, I always get OEM replacement parts for my car. The higher price tag is worth the quality.

Great OEM in-Cabin Air Filter, does a great job at removing dust and odor from the cars incoming air. As with any air filter be aware that when replacing that debris from your old filter can become dislodged and fall into your blower motor below. Though it’s easy to remove by feeling into the hole (below where the filter sits) and carefully maneuvering debris out. My dealer wanted to charge me $64 plus tax and install for this. The job only required a flat head screw driver to pop the tabs and for leverage removing the old filter. I feel this filter is very well built and is the perfect replacement. There are higher quality filters out there but the overall value and peak efficiency seem to be best with this one. I had previously purchased a K&N reusable air filter, but after watching how sensitive cleaning and re-oiling the reusable filter is I opted to go back to a disposable paper/carbon filter. (Slightly less air flow/performance but a better value and much easier to maintain).Update – 10/21/2020: Just bought a replacement to change with my oil! Has kept my car’s air fresh and clean! Don’t bother with the more expensive filters out there this one does the job perfectly. OEM is where it’s at! There’s a reason they put it in!

12 Stars. I’ve used a ton of different filters. The OEM one was the only one that *actually* blocked smells from getting in the car. And it’s the same price as imported generics!!! No more smelly trucks, etc.For the same cost as the cheap stuff, I can get GM Original parts. No brainer!!!

OEM Filter at a Reasonable Price
Used this for a much-needed swap on a 2019 Buick Encore. Easy to order, good price for OEM, shipped quickly, perfect fit. Can’t get any better than that!
