Key Features
-
32-level damping adjustment (fine control over ride feel)
-
Height-adjustable threaded bodies
-
Mono-tube dampers for consistent response
-
Matched spring rates for balanced handling
-
Direct bolt-on installation
Translation: you control the suspension instead of adapting to it.

Lowering an S197 the Smart Way
Yes, it lowers. More importantly, it keeps geometry usable.
Recommended drops:
-
1.0–1.5 inches: Best for daily driving and spirited street use
-
1.5–2.0 inches: Aggressive stance (alignment becomes mandatory)
Go lower than that and you’ll introduce bump steer, reduced travel, and scraping noises you didn’t budget for. The PF kit lets you set height without killing shock travel, which is the whole point.

Ride Quality: Adjustable Beats Guessing
With 32 damping levels, you can actually tailor the ride:
-
Softer settings: Daily comfort, rough roads tolerated
-
Mid settings: Balanced street performance
-
Stiffer settings: Sharper response, less roll, more feedback
Compared to worn OEM suspension:
-
Less bounce over bumps
-
Better body control
-
More planted highway feel
Firm when you want it. Civil when you don’t. Revolutionary concept.
Alignment After Install (Non-Negotiable)
Lowering an S197 always changes alignment. Ignoring this is how tires vanish.
What changes:
-
Increased negative camber up front
-
Toe shifts out of spec (tire killer #1)
-
Caster affects straight-line stability and steering return
Strongly recommended:
-
Professional alignment at final driving height
-
Caster/camber plates if lowering beyond ~1.25”
-
Keep toe near factory specs for street use
Good suspension + bad alignment = expensive disappointment.
Handling Gains You’ll Actually Feel
Once installed and aligned, expect:
-
Sharper turn-in
-
Reduced nose dive under braking
-
Less body roll
-
More confidence mid-corner
No, it won’t turn your Mustang into a GT4 car—but it will finally feel composed instead of floaty.
Build Quality & Ownership Notes
-
Durable, corrosion-resistant finishes
-
Rebuildable mono-tube dampers
-
Periodic inspection recommended (like any adjustable setup)
Install tip: Anti-seize the threads. Adjustable coilovers that seize are just colorful paperweights.
