What This Fuel Pump Module Replaces (and Why That Matters)
This is not just a pump—it’s a complete in-tank fuel pump module assembly, including:
-
Electric fuel pump
-
Fuel level sending unit
-
Strainer (sock filter)
-
Internal pressure regulation components
Over time, factory Mustang fuel pumps suffer from motor wear, clogged strainers, voltage drop, and degraded sending units. The result? Lean conditions, hesitation, poor throttle response, inaccurate fuel gauges, and eventually a no-start scenario that always happens when you’re already late.
Performance & Drivability Benefits
Restoring factory-correct fuel pressure (PSI) and flow volume is critical for proper injector atomization and combustion efficiency. A weak pump can cause lean running, which increases exhaust gas temperatures and risks engine damage—especially on the 4.6L V8 under load.
Benefits of replacing your Mustang’s fuel pump module:
-
Consistent fuel pressure across RPM range
-
Improved cold starts and throttle response
-
Stable injector operation
-
Reduced misfires and hesitation
-
Accurate fuel level readings again (imagine that)
This is reliability first—but reliability is performance.

The float died on my gas pump, I actually found a float repair kit but decided if I’m going thru all the trouble of dropping my gas tank I might as well swap out the pump too. This unit is basically plug and play.

Easy to install, good quality. Came with the full assembly and started right up. Been installed almost 2 months now and has been nothing but great. Would recommend, if you issues it’s probably due to poor installation!

Purchased one and had it installed in my 2003 Mustang, but right away found it was defective, (the fuel gauge did not work, and despite it having a full tank of gas it read empty). Amazon sent me a replacement and again had it installed. It lasted less than a year and developed the same issue with the sending unit failing. I’m convinced that there is a design flaw with this particular unit. Contacted the seller(A-Premium), and was told the warranty was expired, BUT they would give me a 10% discount on a new one. Considering the cost of the unit went up 20%, it was a poor attempt on their part. It cost me @ $650.00 each time the shop had to drop the tank, and I was not willing to have to pay that again to install one of these. I opted to go with a better quality unit with a sending unit that was clearly built better. I DO NOT recommend this product at all.

Perfect fit. Needed to remove the gas tank to install but it started right up with no problems after filling the tank back up with some gas.

It fit and it worked for a fraction of the price that the parts stores wanted.

I made the “in the trunk trap door” by lowering the tank 3 ” (only taking loose the fill head) and with a Orbital saw, so NO Sparks.
