EPAuto CP672 (CF11672) Activated Carbon Cabin Air Filter – Compatible with 2010–2013 Mazda 3 & Mazda 3 Sport

If your Mazda 3’s A/C has started blowing air that smells like someone left a gym bag under the passenger seat, it’s time for a cabin filter replacement. The EPAuto CP672 (CF11672) Cabin Air Filter, available now at ProStreetOnline.com, is engineered specifically for 2010–2013 Mazda 3 and Mazda 3 Sport models. Designed with activated carbon for superior odor control, this filter restores clean, fresh interior airflow while protecting your HVAC system from debris and contamination.

Mazda’s compact sedans and hatchbacks rely on strong airflow to support their sporty driving dynamics and responsive climate systems. A clogged cabin air filter restricts that airflow, strains the blower motor, and allows dust, pollen, and road odors to creep inside. Upgrading to the EPAuto CP672 is the easiest and most affordable way to keep your interior air clean and comfortable.

Why Choose the EPAuto CP672 Activated Carbon Filter?

EPAuto engineered the CP672 to outperform traditional paper cabin filters by incorporating a multi-layer carbon filtration system. This delivers better odor absorption, enhanced particulate filtering, and stronger airflow consistency.

Key Benefits

  • Activated Carbon Odor Control
Absorbs exhaust fumes, smoke, pet smells, and road pollutants before they reach your vents.

  • High-Efficiency Particle Filtration
Traps dust, pollen, mold spores, soot, and micro-debris — ideal for allergy-sensitive drivers and urban commuters.

  • Improves HVAC Efficiency
Restores airflow, allowing your heater and A/C to work with less strain and better output.

  • Protects Sensitive HVAC Components
A clean filter prevents dust buildup inside the evaporator core, reducing the risk of mold and moisture odors.

When Should You Replace Your Mazda Cabin Air Filter?

Mazda recommends replacing the cabin air filter every 12,000–15,000 miles, but you may need to replace it sooner if you experience:

  • Weak airflow from vents

  • Musty or damp cabin odors

  • Excessive interior dust

  • Slow defrosting performance

  • Increased HVAC fan noise

If your Mazda 3 hasn’t had a filter change in years, installing a CP672 will be one of the most noticeable improvements you can make.

It’s been almost 6 years (~23k miles) since I replaced my cabin filter, but that’s because I barely drive my car 4k miles/year. The installation was simple and the filter fits like the old one. I noticed an immediate improvement in the smell and air quality, which wasn’t bad to begin with. My only concern is this filter has ⅔ the pleats of the OEM filter (top of picture). I wonder if having fewer pleats is part of the reason why I didn’t notice much of an improvement in air flow, but this is only a small concern because the airflow was great before the replacement. It also makes me wonder if air flow will decrease faster over time with fewer pleats. The pleats on the new filter are thicker and more rounded than the OEM filter, so there may not be quite as much of a reduction in the total surface area. But, this is a small gripe and I can’t complain for the low cost of the filter. I would buy again, even if I have to replace it a little sooner.

I replaced the ancient cabin filter in a Mazda I bought to fix up. The unpleasant smell in the interior was trapped by the carbon in a few hours of HVAC use. Legitimately good filters!

This fits my 2012 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Hatchback. Tough to get into the space where it’s located but easy to install.

As someone else mentioned the top filter doesn’t have anything that’s shows what direction the air flow is so I had to pretty much guess. The bottom filter did say but top did not have any sign or symbol. I used the old filter as a reference so I’m hoping that was okay. I recommend checking the direction before removing the plastic around the filters. Other than that they seemed to fit correctly and it took a bit to install but that’s mostly because of the way the cabin filter area is in the car.

These are super cheap and the filtration seems on par with the OEM. Not sure the carbon adds much to an OEM filter, but it certainly doesn’t hurt. Fits great on my 2010 Mazda 3. Be aware of the orientation of the filters when you take them out and don’t get too frustrated when you have to shove the two replacements up there in the right alignment. Overall recommend this to anyone looking for a good value and nice air!
