New one is on right in pic and resembles the other in every way except is much cleaner and a couple of mm thinner which likely doesn’t hurt operation much (did have to hold it up while reinstalling the filter cover since it wasn’t as tight a fit as the other filter). Probably will spend the extra couple of bucks next time for a factory thickness filter but this one was cheap and I needed it quickly (this is the one that Amazon could deliver the quickest – I’d buy it again if in a similar situation).See youtube videos for installation.Installation on a 2015 Cayenne:1) Remove T20 torx head screw from center of passenger footwell cover.2) Pull down edge of cover to unclip and then pull towards you to disengage tabs in the rear of cover.3) Unclip light wire connector by squeezing two side clips, and unclip 12v outlet power by depressing tab on side towards console. Set cover aside.4) Pull tab on clip behind air manifold about 2/3rds to the right or simply pull down right side of manifold. Will have to twist and tug to disengage left side of manifold (doesn’t need to come out to replace cabin air fliter, but makes it much easier to see & maneuver). Twist temperature sensor on left side of manifold 90 degrees to remove and set aside manifold.5) Slide thin screwdriver deep in hole at near tab of filter cover or put screwdriver alongside tab – pry away from filter to release. Cover and gasket are easy to remove.6) Note arrow on filter orientation prior to removal. May have to compress filter slightly to remove (slide screwdriver in short edge and press towards center).Arrows on filter should point towards front/center of car.Re-installation is in reverse. Might note where the manifold clips on the right to a round boss on the fan cover as its easier to see and understand with the manifold off. After reinstalling wire connectors, slide tabs on far side of footwell cover in rectangular slots to rear before pressing the left front clip up first and then seating the remaining near clips upward.

Installed into my Touareg myself. Easyt job with instructions from youtube. I get one of these each year. They do get filled up with leaves and dirt, so glad to know they are working. I believe it’s important to have good cabin air filtration. There’s a lot of particulate pollution out on the road, and this filter can filter most of it out.

If you’re looking for a filter, that will do the most basic job that it’s intended to do continue looking. This item does not filter smells instead it produces the worst smelling fumes. You could possibly imagine. My cabin has smelled awful since it’s installed and I’ve had to leave all my windows down to air it out. I’m not sure what it is if it’s the glue or the components that is built into the filter, but it has made my SUV completely unbearable to drive while needing to use the AC. Even when the AC is off of it smells leach out of the vents. Do not buy this filter.
