Why are Cabin Air Filters important?
The air flowing into the cabin through the air conditioning system when a vehicle is moving is about 5 times more contaminated with exhaust gases, pollutants and pollen than the air on the side of the road.
Cabin air filters ensure that drivers and passengers in vehicles breathe in as little as possible of this contaminated air.

When must you change the Cabin Air Filter?
Over its life cycle, a cabin air filter is constantly absorbing dirt particles. With increased contamination its efficiency decreases and it can no longer fulfill its filtration function (see photo).
To ensure clean air in the cabin and protect against invisible dangers when driving, it is necessary to change the cabin air filter at intervals of at least every 12,000 miles or 1x per year.

This is my second time purchasing the cabin air filter for my 2009 VW Rabbit 2.5, and it’s still the same high-quality product, made in Germany. It should also fit most VW MK5 models. I was surprised by how much debris had accumulated when I removed the old filter. Installation is straightforward and only takes about 10 minutes if you’re familiar with the process. The package even includes printed instructions. Replacing the filter every other oil change (around every 10,000 miles) is a good practice to ensure clean, odor-free air inside the car.

Replace as recommended, and keep your car smelling fresh. It’s cheap too, without sacrificing quality. There are several versions (and brands) which offer different features including plain mesh filter, activated charcoal mesh filter, and some even have rubber gaskets around the edge to get a nearly airtight seal. Good price as well,I mentioned that it will fit the cabin air filter slot in 2006-2012 VW Passat’s. I know it also fits some models of Audi. You DON’T need to post a question like, “Will it fit my………………?” You can simply put n the year, make, model, and (sometimes) trim style and Amazon will help you find accessories for your specific model.
