Seems like a decent quality substitute to some more expensive alternatives. The black cover on the main body is just a sticker rather than paint. I could tell because the sides were peeling already when I opened the box. I see a bit of touch up in my future. Overall it seems very similar to my old rollnlock one. The lock is a bit shoddy but still releases. Install was pretty easy and a one man job- just awkward. I upgraded the weather strip during install with a seamless double channel strip. Also added 4 additional clamps to make sure it stays put. Going to upgrade the drain hoses as the little short ones it came with don’t reach the bed ports on my GMC and I’m not drilling. Glad to find one that works w the multipro tailgate and doesnt interfere w its auto operation. Overall it looks great. Should point out that on the bay you can find the same one for about 550 right now also w free shipping. Seller sent a revised manual and install video that were helpful. I’d recommend this product. Will update with some more info on longevity/durability in the near future. Initial review after a full 3 days of bad storms is that it keeps all the debris from the row of oak trees I park under from falling into the bed as well as a bit of water…and that’s just having the hoses dangling into the front of the bed still. For those curious, I found a few decent ideas for routing the tubes using pex fittings on some truck sites that I’ll try out. Will update with sizes later.

Nice cover. Packaged well ,fits well. If you have the gm multi use tailgate it will leak in a rainstorm. No fault of the cover it is because of the open spaces where the step closes. Easy to install but will take a hour or so and make sure you have a friend help

It’s a solid deal. You can’t beat the price. A few years back we had bought the authentic retrax cover for about $1500 and it was the plastic version. The aluminum one is over $2100 now. For $700 and being aluminum you can’t beat the deal. The quality overall is pretty good. It’s tough and heavy and sadeloo says it can withstand up to 500 pounds of weight on top of it. It has slots for cross bars in case you want to mount a rack to it. The instructions are very poorly written and the hardware you receive does not match any of the pictures in the manual. If you’re good with tools and wrenches you can make it work with the hardware they supply you just have to get creative. Theres 4 large pieces total. The box itself that holds the cover, the trim piece that goes on top of the cover and the side pieces that goes on your bed rails. Lay them out accordingly on the floor. There are these little notches where you have to line up an existing bolt underneath followed by installing 2 additional bolts to hold on the side pieces. Once you have both side pieces on then the top piece on the roller box gets installed with bolts and plastic covers. The last part is you need 2 people possibly even 3 to lift and place the giant box on the bed making sure you have installed the foam and the front of the bed. Once in this is where it gets tricky. Lining everything up. Getting the roller to work smoothly. The clamps that hold it down are just awful. I’d recommend buying some separately. It takes a lot of time and adjustment and trimming some of the rubber. But once it’s on there it’s nice and you literally saved thousands. If that’s the trade off I was willing to take the time to perfect a non perfect product to not have to spend 2100 on a retrax.

Looks good on my truck, installation was not too difficult, but recommend a second person to help during install.

It’s a nice cover but does leak water. Not bad but more than I thought. I still like the cover and you do need 2 people to install it.

We bought this in March for our truck. We love it! It is sturdy, and our belongings feel secure in it. I will say a shorter person like myself, it is a struggle to see on top where you apply your digits, but it is very nice and worth the money.
