Why Oil Pressure Monitoring Matters
Pressure drops are early signs of:
-
Bearing failure
-
Oil starvation under hard cornering
-
Pump cavitation
-
Pickup tube issues
-
Low oil level
-
High-RPM oil aeration
-
Turbo oiling problems
Catching the problem early means saving the engine—this gauge delivers that warning instantly.
Installation Notes
-
Requires a compatible AEM 0–150 PSI pressure sensor
-
Mount oil pressure sensor using a remote line (never directly on a vibrating block)
-
Connect analog output for ECU-based safeties (recommended for turbo cars)
-
Keep wiring away from headers and high-temp zones
-
Standard 52mm gauge pod fitment
Typical install time: 30–60 minutes.
Final Verdict
The AEM 30-4407 0–150 PSI Oil Pressure Gauge is one of the best digital oil pressure monitors available for performance and motorsport builds.
With its wide pressure range, lightning-fast X-Series electronics, and ECU-friendly outputs, it provides the critical protection every engine needs—especially boosted or high-RPM setups.
If you want accurate, reliable oil pressure data that can save your engine, this is the gauge to run.

Works great. Fairly simple install. Just make sure you don’t install into your oil pan since you don’t usually get much of a pressure reading from the pan. Only con is that I wish it had a backlight. Only light on the gauge is the LED number and the LED dial/needle. I don’t understand what the point of even having a face on the gauge is if you can’t read it except in the daylight or with a flashlight.

I bought this gauge along with a boost gauge. It is a very responsive gauge. The LED lighting is bright enough to see in daylight, and it has a ambient light sensor to automatically dim (you can test it by shining a flashlight at it). It is very sensitive (which may be a bad thing, the number is constantly flickering), perhaps an analog gauge, or a digital one with a needle might have been better but I like this gauge regardless. The sensor is very responsive as far as I can tell. The picture for this item is inaccurate – it shows the truboost controller/gauge. The digital display in the center is pretty much like that, but the ring of leds around the outside do not ‘fill’ as depicted; rather it is single LED that is lit at any time.Overall, it’s a very good gauge to have in a performance car. Apart from knowing the oil pressure, you can easily tell how warmed up your oil is by observing the pressure at idle. For example, on a cold start, the oil pressure is around 100psi, but by the time the oil has warmed up, it drops as low as 18psi at idle.

Installed in my Subaru, the gauge can bounce around a bit, but nothing more than any other electric gauge I have used. The included black face plate is great for a more stealth install, very nice this kit comes with both options to allow you to choose white or black face plate. The auto-dimming is quick to respond and adjusts to the perfect light level at night.

Purchased for a 16 sti, works very well after a 3 minutes of starting car. Gave it 4 stars because when I start up my car the gauge reads 0 for 2-3 minutes then slowly increases, 5 minutes later it reads correctly. This only occurs on a cold start. The first 6 months I had the gauge this was not the case, it read high on cold starts then slowly went down, I’ve had this gauge for 8 months so far and I don’t know if it will eventually die soon, unless this is normal after 6 months, overall reads correct wile driving and at idle.

Installation was straightforward, I wrapped the sensor threads in 2 layers of teflon pipe tape then threaded it into a brass “T” block next to the notoriously inaccurate factory sensor. The gauge works well and responds very quickly.

Had installed in my car 18 months now. Works perfectly, except one segment of 1 segment of the 7 segment display has stopped working. This could be due to sun exposure though, so make sure to avoid heat with these!

The third ones’ the charm! It’s great to be able to see my oil pressure presented in a digital mode with an accompanying band that raises as the numbers go up! A very usable, useful tool and it’s easy to understand as well as read. Along with my AEM boost gauge and my AEM air/fuel gauge, all of them matching and all look fantastic!

What can you say about aem but their products are great. This gauge is awesome. Digital and warns you about your oil levels. The way it changes lights to warn you that you are low on oil or dangerous low. Love it

Great illumination
This gauge was easy to install. Nice low profile gauge fits great on my A pillar. The best part is the illumination is perfect day or night. Not to bright at night to be distracting.
