Why Replace the Whole Cover (Not Just the Gasket)?
Because the gasket isn’t the problem — the warped plastic cover is.
Replace the whole thing, and you get:
-
Stronger housing
-
Proper sealing
-
Correct crankcase pressure
-
No more oil drips
-
No more burnt-oil smell
It’s the difference between a temporary patch and a real fix.

This valve cover is not worth it I wouldn’t recommend for bmw owners I just blew a head gasket because this exact cover is not air tight you can screw the cover down tight and oil still drips ,the left side of my engine is cover with oilI’m warning all bmw owner please stick with Original Equipment Manufacturer or you will be purchasing a new engine and partsPlease don’t go the cheap route like I did or you will be coming out of pocket with major engine repair instead of purchasing it at your local store for $300 or $400 Which sound better $400 or $11,000
