What Stage 3 Camshafts Deliver

These camshafts will outperform all other Skunk2 Tuner offerings from idle to redline with no loss in drivability. A great match for vehicles with aftermarket intake manifolds, light to heavy cylinder head work, large changes in compression, intake, big-tube header, and large exhaust. Tuner Stage 3’s require a simple valve spring and retainer upgrade due to the additional lift, duration and increased RPM range. Considered the go to cam for cracking that 300hp on pump gas for years… ideal for street cars that really aren’t street cars and entry-level drag race cars.

Recommended Supporting Modifications

Installing Stage 3 cams requires additional upgrades to maintain reliability and unlock full performance:

  • Dual valve springs

  • Upgraded retainers (steel or titanium)

  • Adjustable cam gears

  • High-flow intake manifold

  • Larger throttle body

  • ECU tuning (Hondata K-Pro or standalone system)

Without proper valvetrain upgrades, aggressive cams can lead to valve float at high RPM.

AMAX – A Skunk2 design that simply maximizes the area under the lift curve but without compromising reliability or valve-train stability. Skunk2’s profiles feature more duration than competitors’ at lifts above 1mm, resulting in greater efficiency and more power.
