6.1L Hemi V8
Potential models include:
- 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8
- 2008–2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8
- 2008–2010 Dodge Charger SRT8
- 2008–2010 Chrysler 300C SRT8
- 2008–2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
The 6.1L Hemi commonly uses a different plug family, including references such as PLZTR5A-13, rather than LZFR5CI-11. An NGK catalog lists PLZTR5A-13 for 2007–2010 6.1L applications with a 1.3 mm or 0.052-inch gap. angelvf.com
Therefore, Kit-1565 should not be listed for a 6.1L vehicle unless the plugs physically included in that specific kit match the vehicle’s cataloged application.
6.4L Hemi V8
Potential models include:
- Dodge Challenger SRT8, SRT 392 and Scat Pack
- Dodge Charger SRT8, SRT 392 and Scat Pack
- Chrysler 300 SRT8
- Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8/SRT
- Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 6.4L gas V8
LZFR5CI-11/92145 appears in published NGK catalogs for certain 6.4L applications, but later SRT models may use other plug numbers, including LZTR6AP11EG/97408. Fabricantes de vehículos de motor
Verify the model year and original plug number before purchase.
The 5.9L Listing Is Incorrect
The description’s 2008–2019 5.9L V8 claim should be removed.
Chrysler’s 5.9L Magnum gasoline V8 was replaced before the advertised 2008 starting year. The 5.9L engine found in later Dodge and Ram trucks was a Cummins diesel, which does not use Hemi ignition coils or spark plugs.
There is no legitimate 2008–2019 Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler or Ram 5.9L Hemi V8 application for this kit.
Coil Interchange Numbers
The ignition coils are advertised as replacing:
- UF504
- 56029129AA
- 56029129AB
- 56029129AF
- Related OE-style Hemi coil references
Always compare:
- Electrical connector
- Mounting location
- Coil-body dimensions
- Boot length
- Original OE number
A physically similar Hemi coil does not guarantee that the included spark plugs are correct for the same engine.
Spark-Plug References
Advertised plug references include:
- NGK LZFR5CI-11
- NGK stock number 92145
- Approximately 0.044-inch factory gap for applicable engines
NGK identifies LZFR5CI-11 as a Laser Iridium application for selected Hemi engines. Laser Iridium plugs use an iridium center electrode and a precious-metal ground electrode intended for OE-style durability.
Learn more about the difference between performance-oriented and OE-style iridium plugs in NGK’s guide to Iridium IX versus OE Iridium spark plugs.
Symptoms This Kit May Correct
Correctly matched coils and plugs may help address:
- Rough or unstable idle
- Hesitation under acceleration
- Hard starting
- Reduced engine power
- P0300 random or multiple-cylinder misfire
- P0301 through P0308 cylinder-specific misfires
- Coil primary or secondary circuit codes
- Flashing check-engine light
- Fuel odor caused by incomplete combustion
Before replacing every ignition component, read our guide to bad ignition-coil symptoms. Fuel injectors, intake leaks, damaged wiring and mechanical engine problems can produce nearly identical symptoms.
Our P0300 diagnostic guide also explains why a random-misfire code does not automatically condemn all eight coils.
Installation Notes
Replacing Hemi spark plugs requires more time than servicing a conventional eight-plug V8 because there are two plugs per cylinder.
Before installation:
- Confirm the VIN, model year, displacement and engine code.
- Verify the original coil and spark-plug numbers.
- Make sure the kit includes 16 correct spark plugs.
- Work only on a cool engine.
- Clean dirt from around every plug well.
- Compare plug thread, reach, seat and heat range.
- Check every plug gap before installation.
- Start each plug by hand to prevent cross-threading.
- Use the factory torque specification for the exact engine.
- Inspect all coil connectors and boots.
- Clear stored codes and confirm normal operation.
NGK recommends checking the required gap for the individual engine even when plugs arrive pre-gapped. Review its guidance on checking and setting spark-plug gaps.
Recommended Product-Page Fitment Statement
Compatible with select Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ram vehicles equipped with 5.7L, 6.1L or 6.4L Hemi V8 engines. Fitment varies by year, engine and spark-plug specification. Confirm OE coil number 56029129AB/UF504 and spark-plug number LZFR5CI-11/92145 before ordering. Not compatible with 5.9L Cummins diesel engines.
