Compact Wireless Construction
Each bulb integrates its driver and cooling components into a compact assembly. This eliminates separate ballast boxes and reduces the amount of wiring that must fit behind the housing.
The bulbs are advertised as approximately matching factory dimensions, but buyers should still confirm:
- Rear-housing clearance
- Dust-cover clearance
- Connector orientation
- Retaining-ring compatibility
- Space for cooling-fan airflow
Installation time varies by vehicle. A bulb may twist directly into one housing while another vehicle requires removal of a wheel liner, airbox or bumper cover. “No tools required” is a vehicle-dependent claim, not a sacred promise.
Cooling System
The bulbs use several heat-management components:
- Zinc-alloy housing
- Copper heat pipes and plates
- Integrated 12,000-rpm fan
- Ventilated rear structure
Active cooling helps remove heat from the LED chips and driver, but the fan must have adequate clearance and airflow. Do not block the ventilation openings or force the bulb against a dust cover.
CAN-Bus Compatibility
The integrated driver is designed to work with many vehicle electrical systems. However, some vehicles may still experience:
- Bulb-out warnings
- Flickering
- Lights that remain partially illuminated
- Radio interference
- Pulse-width-modulation conflicts
Additional decoders or load modules may be required on sensitive vehicles. Compatibility should be confirmed using the exact year, make, model, trim and factory lighting package.
Fitment Information
This kit is intended for vehicles using both bulb families:
- 9005/HB3: commonly used in high-beam and fog-light positions
- H11: commonly used in low-beam and fog-light positions
- H8, H9 and H16: related bulb families, but connector, tab and power differences may apply
Do not assume that H11, H8, H9 and H16 are universally interchangeable. Verify the exact bulb designation and installation position using the original bulbs and vehicle owner’s manual.

Installation Overview
- Switch off the vehicle and allow the original bulbs to cool.
- Remove the housing covers or access panels.
- Disconnect and remove the original bulbs.
- Compare the locating tabs and connectors.
- Install each LED bulb in the correct position.
- Confirm that the emitters are properly oriented.
- Reconnect the wiring.
- Check clearance around the cooling fans.
- Test every lighting function.
- Inspect the beam pattern and adjust the headlights if required.

Important DOT and Road-Use Notice
The submitted description claims that this product is “DOT approved” because the manufacturer has a U.S. designated agent and registrations associated with 49 CFR Parts 551 and 566. Those administrative registrations do not establish that NHTSA tested or approved these bulbs.
NHTSA expressly states that it does not approve motor-vehicle equipment; manufacturers instead self-certify compliance.
More importantly, NHTSA’s February 13, 2024 interpretation states that LED replaceable light sources are not permitted in replaceable-bulb headlamps under FMVSS No. 108.
Therefore, this product should not be advertised as “NHTSA approved,” “DOT approved” or universally legal for public-road headlight use without product-specific compliance documentation that directly addresses FMVSS No. 108. Depending on the installation, it may be restricted to fog-light, auxiliary, powersports or off-road applications. State and local rules may impose additional restrictions.
